I happen to trust the coaching staff and really enjoy watching the kids they've developed. My guess is that more people have that perspective than the gloom and doom and whine and cry we see here so often.
Dude, I enjoy it too.. brag about a 2 star like Sam who is dominating the SEC.
If we're going to have a forum to voice opinions, I don't think it's outrageous to wonder if we over did it a little bit in this '14 class. It's fair to wonder if the staff panicked a little bit and offered too many low end prospects early in the recruiting season.

It seems like the fans are the ones who are in panic mode (at least the ones who post on here). This is almost worse than reading nasty negative comments about politics).
Eh. There's a general positive vibe about both our recruiting and our on field product. Not sure where you're getting your perception.

Oh, there have been some negative comments about recruiting, and there has been concern voiced. But it's turned around enough that I think people are generally OK with it now.

I'm gonna guess it's the calling kids out by name. Like I said, I understand and agree with the concern, calling them out by name makes me cringe a bit too.

I am excited about the 2014 class. I expect a very strong finish to the class with a few 4* and highly ranked 3* recruits joining the class by signing day.
We've made good inroads in TN, GA, and FL and could impress a few people with our MO haul if we pull in 2 of Brian Wallace, Raymond Wingo, and Roderick Johnson to join Bauer and Cheadle.

Yeah. I guess comparatively to other sections of the inter webs that it all seems pretty mellow on the Mizzou board. Just IMO.

Thanks for the info. This is becoming my favorite sight for Mizzou info.

I guess no one was excited about re-landing Abbington.
I'm thrilled the kid stuck with Mizzou.

Virtually every one of this year's recruits are at least a 3* somewhere on one of the numerous recruiting services/rankings.
Here's a bit of info for you. Anyone getting a 2* hasn't be really evaluated yet. Some of these recruiting services acknowledge that in the little piece they provide explaining what their star system means. Generally a 3* means the kid has the potential to be an all conference player according to their evaluations.
I don't think the staff panicked at all. I think they continued to follow their own system of evaluating and projecting kids, which has been shown to be pretty effective at identifying talent over a number of years now.

Oh, I'm very excited!! It's just not a surprise, everything I'd read about him said he was still planning on playing at Mizzou. Can't wait to get him on campus!
Will he graduate juco in the spring of 2015?

I believe so yes. He recently said his academics are as good as they ave ever been and he has learned a big lesson from this experience. It sucks he had to go this route but im glad he did. Him taking school seriously is the best thing that could ever happen to him.

Deven Hammond 3* CB/RB/QB receiving interest from Mizzou among others. No offer yet. From Louisiana

Getting some kids from Louisiana would be great, that's another talent-rich target.

Agreed. This kid is a beast who should contribute early. Big Big RB. Very excited to see him play. He's been killing it at Hutch this year.
