Well that sucks if not unexpected. Don't wish him ill, don't wish him well. Just sucks that we can't beat out some of these big names to keep the local talent home. Don't care if it's a position of need or not, at some point, we have to start winning on all of the in state guys that we are pursuing.

But the fact that it isn't a position of need probably played a part in it. We held on to 2 recruits last year even after the "big" boys came after them. We got a great homegrown QB, and the regions best RB. No state keeps all their talent, especially in the SEC.

It's cool. It will continue to be what it will be. Never said we don't get good players out of Missouri. We do. But in my mind, the next hump is making Mizzou a destination landing spot. Not one that is looked at as second tier to these kids. Missouri isn't exactly like Texas, Florida, Georgia or even Tennessee. We simply don't pump out the numbers the other states do. So obviously the other states aren't going to keep all of their kids in state. But also, because we pump out smaller numbers, it makes it all the more imperative that whomever the staff identifies in state that they want, that they go get.

Well I'm the only one left in the MO big 3 who's not committed.

Would not be shocked to see him look elsewhere now that Hentges went to Bama. Sounds to me like he had bought into the whole MO big 3 thing but now it no longer exists. Shall see.

How does Ofodile compare with Marcus Lucas coming out of high school? Both seem to be big 4 star recievers. And while Lucas was good, he was our 3rd best reciever behind DGB and Washington. Is that what we expected when he committed or did he underachieve?

Ofodile is not coming here. Might as well just forget about him. 99.9% chance he won't play here.

You seem very certain. Why? Do you have a source? Or just a feeling?

I have the "Durron Neal" feel on this one as well.
He has been way to low key about Mizzou throughout for a home town fella.

We aren't even in his top 10.

He is a very heavy OU lean at this point.

Ofodile tweeted something today kind of mocking Mizzou fans rallying for Hentges staying home.

It was just a tweet with the #stayhome #trueson #mizzou4ever type stuff and then a mocking smiley.

Wouldn't assume it was mocking, but he took it down a short bit afterwards. Doesn't seem like something someone with any intent to come to us would do IMO

I've got a good source on this, and yes he was mocking Mizzou fans on twitter.

He's not coming here. I just wish he would show a little class (might be tough for him) and let the staff know so we aren't wasting anymore time than we already have. Kid absolutely loves attention though, so I doubt it.

This reminded me to look up his stats. Neal had 13 catches this year in 5 games. Only 7 against conference opponents.

If we all know I am sure the staff knows as well. They are the ones charged with knowing this stuff.

Worry not dear friend.

well IF TRUE that's certainly a shame, his dad has seemingly gotten along really well with the current staff at Mizzou.

Hard to know what kids are thinking these days, or if they are thinking at all. A local kid could be a big home town hero and not only have mom and dad at the games but half the extended family and high school friends as well. That certainly won't happen at some out of state school, now if a kid is looking at educational opportunity and availability of course work that's something else, but kinda doubt that's the case.

The last thing they should be doing is these ridiculous announcement ceremonies, having the idea they need even more attention renforced by the adults around them is ludicrous.

Are we even talking about the same kid? Alex Ofodile, right? I mean he might well end up somewhere other than Mizzou, but I have seen NOTHING about him being an OU lean at all since last summer. And not even in top 10?

Yes, Alex Ofodile. Son of former Mizzou TE AJ.

He's not coming here, we are out. I don't know how I can state it anymore clearly. I have a good source on this.
