I know it's part of the new game of recruiting, but our deommits from basketball seem high.

His Rivals profile has Mizzou interest as "High" and everyone else as none. Probably just bored of not getting attention. I bet if this team gets on a roll, grabs another good commit by April, he'll be back by August.

I think there will be uncertainty until all this stuff with Haith is settled one way or the other. We're vulnerable as long as the NCAA keeps its case open and rumors circulate about our coach.

Seeing more offers coming in for CA players. Is that a new thing? I dont remember seeing many players from there on Mizzou.

From looking @ the offer list on 247, it looks like it has nearly doubled in just the last few days...and the majority of the offers are to 5*, 4*, and high 3* recruits.
Now, let's go out and reel some of these guys in!

DE Dewayne Hendrix 6'5 240 O'Fallon,IL has been rated a 4* by rivals. Is it just me or does our current offer list seem much stronger than last years?

Not just you, seems strong.
Another great year of in state talent... we've been on the cusp and I think we're now entering a time where the state of MO has a very solid talent pool nearly every year. The sport has seen a huge upswing in KC and StL and it's continuing to get more popular as a youth sport.. which was previously dominated by baseball and soccer.

I live down in SW MO just a bit east of Springfield and baseball is still the top sport in the smaller towns but you can see football really start to pick up in Springfield schools and in Rolla. It would be nice if we can lock down Illinois as well. They seem to have a solid players every year.

Baseball, basketball and soccer are still probably played by more kids in the STL but football has definitely seen a bit of a resurgence lately. I really hope we can land a majority of the in-state OLinemen. They have me excited about the possibilities already.

We need to get a minimum of 3 OL out of the top 6 in the state for the 2014 recruiting class. It is a must !!!

I think we will. We may or may not get the big dog in Bauer, but the impression I have is that Johnson is blowing up nearly as much. I don't remember where I read it or exactly what I read, but it left me with the distinct impression that we don't have much of a shot with Braden Smith.

This offense has not produced many OL that went on to the NFL. We have more defensive players starting in the NFL than we do from our high powered offense.
Hopefully with a new OC, HCGP will have the OL put their hand on the ground and push forward. That should help in getting some quality O Linemen.

4* guard D.J. Foster from Lincoln Nebraska has been offered. Dude is a mammoth! Would be nice to snag him

How do you all feel about separating the football and basketball recruiting threads for 2014? Just a suggestion.. not a big deal either way.
Also, possibly cleaning up the board and getting some of those stickies knocked off. My ocd is kicking in at the moment, my apologies.
Gotta think that Henson being the man in charge and being an OL guy will help get some of these instate OL guys to Mizzou.
Mizzou is the type of place that seems like it has always had parts of the puzzle but never the entire puzzle at the same time. They have the D but not the O, or the WRs but not the QB, the QB but not the OL... hopefully that starts to change. Wish this upcoming OL class came about 3 years ago.

The BBall Recruiting thread wouldnt get enough traffic to make it worth the while.

I have to agree with Stripes. We need more posters, and a more active board!!
