Auburn didn't win a single conference game last year and they have another great class.

Kentucky hasn't won much of anything in football and yet they have a great class when comnpared to ours.

So, it's not just Wins that interest recruits.

Would you be hinting that a new coach might be in order?

There was a PowerMizzou article posted earlier today about him, turns out he got his wish.

I'm not hinting about Pinkel's tenure at all. I'm saying that the quantity of wins is not the only criteria. I'm saddened by all the Missouri talent that isn't intersted in playing at Missouri. (e.g Bauer, Elliot) I wish I knew why.

The best recruits from last year's class aren't even eligible to attend Mizzou and are forced to go the JUCO route.

I'm just not seeing the SEC recruiting bump.

Got ya. I thought with the mention of UK and Aub (2 teams with new coaches) you were saying it's not just wins, it's hiring a new coach to create some buzz.

I think it's far from the only reason, but I don't think it helps that our major metropolitan areas are literally right on the border of neighboring states. In my mind it's like Memphis. UT may get kids out of Memphis, but they hardly own Memphis. Arkansas and Mississippi, 2 states that practically border Memphis, do about as well there as UT.

As for Elliott, while I don't like the way he played MU, I can hardly blame him for going to tOSU. It's a ton more prestigious football program and frankly their coach is a ton more prestigious than ours. Being the hometown team only gets you so far when the larger names come after them.

I live in Memphis and it is often called "The biggest city in Mississippi"..

Ole Miss is a little over an hour from Memphis, M State is 90 minutes. Bama is 2 1/2 hours. UT is 7 hours. Sometimes Knoxville seems to be in another state. It is in another time zone.

There's no way of proving it and no way of changing it, but I always suspected that if STL and even KC were in the middle of the state, you'd see a larger number of the kids staying within the state.

Those saying kids have more interest in things than wins, you're absolutely right... but you're also wrong in the way you're accessing this.

In our case, wins mean stabilization of the coaching staff. No one wants too commit to a sinking ship. When we had 10 wins, we were Big12, and whatever... win 10 games in the SEC and I can promise you'll see a bump in recruiting.

Terez Paylor offers some more information on Logan.

Cheadle, a three-star CB, also had offers from Indiana, Iowa State and Northern Illinois. He is the 11th 2014 commit for #Mizzou.

Cheadle had 22 tackles, 8 deflections and 4 interceptions as a junior last season for LS West. Joins OT Kevin Pendleton as a #Mizzou commit.

Lee Summit West is really paying off for us welcome Logan!

Do you think this hurts our chances with Murphy the CB from Georgia?

It shouldn't - that's a fairly weak position for us, we could use several BDs.

Yes, Cheadle was said we're only taking 2 corners. Him plus FS4 gives us 2 corners.

Do y'all think we'll take a QB in this class? It would appear to me that we aren't looking to take one and I suppose that's fine. I'm guessing they have their current stable and they'll put on a big push for the in-state kid in the 2015 class?
