I'm glad to hear that he hasn't signed at Miami but troubled by the fact that Miami is even in the conversation. Where'd this come from?
Probably some reporter trying to get noticed. Remember when 247 reported Murphy had committed to Mizzou this summer and a few days later he decided on Arkansas. Not saying he won't go to Miami, just that you can take it with a grain of salt.

Raymond Wingo
Position: Cornerback, kick returner
School: Saint Louis, MO (St. Louis University)
Height/Weight: 5-10, 174
40 time: 4.55 seconds.
247 Sports/ 247Composite rating: 93 (4-star); 87 (3-star)
BODY
Wingo has a similar frame to many top SEC cornerbacks. Right now, he's a little lanky, but he has the body type to easily add 20-25 pounds and not lose his quickness and hip flexibility.
ANALYSYS
-Wingo has strong instincts, and locates where the play is going quickly. That allows him to be in proper position to make a play more often than not.
-When you watch his highlights, particularly when he's on offense, you notice that Wingo has very good ball skills. He's not one of those CBs that can't catch. He looks the ball in well, and uses a solid vertical to go up and get it. He also does a nice job high-pointing the ball, meaning he grabs it at the highest spot possible.
-It's hard not to like Wingo's sudden change instincts. Once he makes an interception or recovers a fumble, his mentality instantly shifts to offensive mode and he is trying to find the endzone. There is no hesitation whatsoever
-In his offensive highlights, you see Wingo's strong one-cut ability and speed, making him difficult to corral. Those are skills you find with the better punt returners. He's very good at making defenders miss. He accelerates well from a cut and hits top-end speed quickly.
-Wingo's speed and rapid acceleration allow him to 1. cover a lot of ground in the secondary, and 2. close fast on a receiver.
-Wingo is stronger than he looks, and isn't bad against the run. He doesn't back down from contact, but can improve at being more physical and shedding blocks. Added strength should help him in that department, and in press coverage.
-Wingo does a good job sticking with receivers stride for stride, and seems to have an awareness about when the ball might arrive.
IN SUM ...
Wingo's film absolutely justifies his 247Sports ranking. In time, it wouldn't be a surprise if others give him a bump. He's an exceptional athlete with a little bit of that "it" factor to go with it. Utilizing that athleticism, speed and instincts, Mizzou has a very good piece of clay with which to work at the cornerback positio

Lee’s Summit West cornerback Logan Cheadle officially signs with Missouri
December 17
BY TOD PALMER
The Kansas City Star
COLUMBIA — Lee’s Summit West senior Logan Cheadle grew up admiring E.J. Gaines.
Cheadle and Gaines, a senior cornerback at Missouri, played in the same Pop Warner program and have similar builds, so he became a natural role model.
“Obviously, he was on the older team, but we were coached by a lot of the same guys,” Cheadle said. “It’s an honor to me to be compared to E.J. Gaines. I think it’s great, because that’s somebody I’ve looked up to for so much of my career.”
Now, Cheadle, who officially signed with the Tigers on Tuesday, will try to replace Gaines — and soon.
Cheadle is set to graduate from high school a semester early and will enroll at Missouri for the spring.
“This is the first one we’ve ever had (graduate early) in our 10 years,” Titans coach Royce Boehm said. “I think he was just hungry and ready to get down to Columbia and get things going. He was done with the recruiting process and wanted to get into the Missouri strength program, because he’s heard so much about from (sophomore center) Evan (Boehm) and from E.J.”
The way Cheadle sees it, that is his best chance to get on the field next fall.
“I want to get an early jump on things and strengthen my chances of playing my freshman year,” Cheadle said. “The sooner I get down there, the sooner I get into the weights program, the sooner I get the playbook down and the sooner (Missouri defensive backs) coach (Cornell) Ford can get his hands on me and help my technique.”
Cheadle is joining the Tigers at a good time. Both starting cornerbacks, Gaines and senior Randy Ponder, will graduate and vacate spots in the secondary.
“The door’s wide open for anybody to come in challenge for a spot,” Cheadle said. “… I definitely think there’s a chance to come in and fight for a spot in the rotation.”
So, is Cheadle — 5 feet, 10 inches and 180 pounds — ready for SEC football?
“Not right now, but hopefully by the time fall rolls around I will be,” Cheadle said.
Missouri picked up another commitment Tuesday when St. Louis University High School senior Raymond Wingo, a two-way player who is also expected to play cornerback, gave his verbal pledge.
Wingo, 6 feet and 165 pounds, is a three-star recruit and ranks seventh in Missouri and 30th overall at his position, according to Rivals.com.

Maybe he can help Cheadle like he helped EJ Gaines, now an all SEC corner and future NFL draftee. Or perhaps he can help him to progress like Aarion Penton has this year as a true freshman.

I'd love for us to offer some mystery DE we all don't know about right now close to signing day, ala Michael Sam. I just feel like we're gonna be real thin there.

Rutgers recruiting: Calvin Heurtelou picks Miami over Rutgers, Missouri
By Todderick Hunt/NJ.com
on December 26, 2013
Calvin Heurtelou has selected to play for Miami (Fla.) over finalists Rutgers and Missouri, he confirmed Thursday with NJ.com.
The 6-3, 305-pound Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College defensive tackle was expected to make his announcement Tuesday, but said he held off while pondering his decision with family. However, reports surfaced over the past two days that said the delay occurred while the Hurricanes analyzed Heurtelou's transcripts.
Heurtelou took an official visit to Rutgers the weekend of Dec. 13 and left with a high opinion of the Scarlet Knights, but the three-day experience couldn't put the program over the top.
Although there are no consolation prizes in college football recruiting, Heurtelou said the Scarlet Knights finished second.
"I liked Rutgers," the Spring Valley (N.Y.) native said. "It was nothing wrong with it. I felt more comfortable at Miami. So that was where I wanted to go.
"It's something I wanted to do since I was back in high school. It's where I wanted to go since I can remember. So I picked them."
Heurtelou is the 29th player to commit to the Hurricanes in the 2014 recruiting class. He is the ninth-ranked post-graduate defensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports.com.

Well that sucks. Was hoping/counting on him at least. The complete lack of numbers has me a little concerned. I had asked months ago on the recruiting board how many other schools take 0 DT's and 1 or 2 DE's in a class and absolutely no other school does. Even if they don't necessarily have a need, they still take 3 or 4.
