Paul Adams stands a good chance of being a 1st team All SEC OT at the end of the year. He is as technically sound as anyone in the conference at his position.

Simms is going to be able to showcase his skills in the power/counter run game. Davis should be able to help him clean up his left hand technique on A gap pass rush/blitz pick up.

KP didn't get any love but he and Simms are stirring the drink for Crockett and LR3 this fall. If you go look UF's inside oline technique last year, you can get an idea of what Simms, Castillo, and KP are going to be asked to do this fall.

Tua has played 1 half of football. How is he first team over Lock?

Walk off throw in the Natty, gobs of talent around him, and Lock has a new OC.

If BO can't get to 8 wins with this bunch it's probably time to move on

But I thought they had a back 7 that would "struggle to reach middle SEC level"?

They are better back there than last season. They also have holes back there. Offense should be solid talent wise. They don't have the talent of GA or Alabama but they should be able to out play every other team on their schedule. Scar is a good test given how badly BO has struggled in games where the talent is roughly equal. So if they can't get to 8 wins with this team and this schedule in year 4 what's that say about Barry?

Explain what you are basing your opinion on?

Every two deep scheme has holes in it. Explain.

Sure.

If they win 7 games with no injuries it will be disappointing but fire the coach disappointing?

I think you are underestimating the schedule, but I agree that if we don't win 8 games I'll be disappointed. We've got several potential holes on the defense though. Particularly DE and Safety. I like our talent at CB, but we are thin there.

We need a whole lot to go right on that side of the ball, and we need to stay relatively healthy.

IDK. firing the coach is a big deal which often makes you take a step back. It also can make you take a step forward; ask Georgia. So far Barry and staff have consistently underperformed on game day for three years, if it goes to four Sterk has at least got to think about his options.

As far as the back 7 Hall is good and Garret and Lee are at least a year more experienced. By holes (hole?) I mean we have 3 serviceable DBs for four positions. If we get injured back there it could be a brutal season. Maybe a young guy can step up?

So sans injuries I don't think we have to struggle to have middling SEC back 7. We just have it.
Maybe.
With another DB

You could argue on paper without injuries we should win 9, or 10 with a good game against Scar. So I'm trying to go easy on him at 8. Memphis, Purdue, Ky, and Florida are not easy games but we should win them. I want to see 3-1 here. And if he loses to Ky again he needs his arse kicked just on principle

Memphis played in a shootout with UCF last year and lost a close game as where UCF beat Auburn like they stole something. Purdue manhandled Mizzou last year. I think that we have a better chance to beat Florida and Kentucky. The scribes are picking SCar to win 10 games for some reason and Vandy could fool some people.

We can't start off slow this year, because our schedule is tougher this year. That's why I'm probably picking us to win 5-6 games. I hope that I'm wrong!

Memphis is replacing 22 people on it's two deep, 16 on defense and 6 on offense.

Purdue is replaces 11 defenders on its two deep including 6 of the front 7.

Not going to be the same teams.

Mike Locksley has 8 years of coordinating experience, 7 of them as OC/QB coach. He was the Co-OC last year as well.

Our talent is not roughly equal with SCAR. Come on. Look at the rankings over the past few years.

Lock didn't even make the Athlon All American team. They had 4 qbs and he wasn't listed among them.

It's an arguable point. I'd say we have more talent on offense and less on defense. They have more depth They probably have us but it's not like it's as big a gap as it is with GA or UA.

However if you want to base it on recruiting rankings the SECrant is the place for you...
