Going to need a better road system soon but not sure it's possible. Wasn't designed for this many people. Love how the town has grown and improved but damn just drove through to get food on my way back to the delta from Alabama and traffic was just awful. Bumper to bumper almost all the way down 12. At 3pm on Wednesday in the middle of June. Can't imagine how bad it is during school now

I’ll just say every single time I’m in town I witness a wreck and it’s always in front of McDonalds. I saw some chick take off the front bumper to a Honda Civic a few months ago.

When I put Starkville in the rearview, it had a population of 25k.

Starkville simply wasn't designed to scale. Getting anywhere outside of downtown to downtown requires you to go through a cramped highway that's always under construction. Oxford had the same problem on Jackson Avenue but it has gotten (slightly) better the last couple of years.

If Starkville ever wants to grow into a major city it needs to. There is no reason for that area to have not grown more than it already is honestly. We have one of the two largest universities in the state, something has to give.

What I honestly think needs to happen more is building something outside of that main 12 area. Seems like the new Walmart is at the forefront of it. But there is certainly a noticeable disconnect between Starkville and Mississippi State.

What needs to happen is more things need to build towards the new 82 and the new 25. Those roads are built to accommodate more than 12 can. Why everything builds on 12 and no one builds anything towards 82 when there is certainly the traffic, who knows...
