Lol wut?

Bundy I worked under a coach who worked under the likes of Bob Huggins, Billy Hahn, and is good friends with Bobby Knight. Last season he attended the West Virginia game in Starkville to see both Bob and Billy. I asked him after the game what he thought about the offense, he purely said it was like they ran one play then after it didn't work after 10 seconds it became street ball. That's coaching. Stans couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Could he recruit? Hell yes. Coach on the court? No. He was at best a below average floor coach.

just for the sake of keeping our minds off of recruiting for a bit and to pass the time...
Bundy makes a point. Look at UK right now. How many top kids are on that team and where are they at in ranking?
Is that coaching? Is that Chemistry? Is it over rated talent?

Stans coached well enough to be a head SEC coach for 15 years. Just saying.
As for recruiting, maybe Rick Ray should take some notes from Stans. With that said it was good seeing that he made the Rumble in the South at MC on Monday to watch Malik Newman and other Metro area kids play.

May/may not had been coachspeak, but he seemed very pleased with the talent there too..

Never said he didn't have a long tenure Bundy, but the guy wasn't a floor coach regardless. For years he always preached rebounding and defense, then for about 5 or 6 years he basically decided to not do that anymore.

He was worse than what most people think

And this is what people think of when evaluating Stansbury as an X's and O's coach. Where stans was absolutely putrid was practice. He wasn't a terrible floor coach. He just couldn't teach offense, because he didn't know offense at all. It was clear as day.

I agree Bundy. Hopefully Ray can sign up a few more like Renardo Sidney, Deville Smith, Ravern, Elgin and Kodi. Those are just the pieces of shite off the top of my head. Don't make my start naming the transfers under his regime.

Maybe he could. Maybe he will. But stop acting like Rick Ray is a failure at recruiting, because it is way too early to tell.

But, but, but it's not Stans fault.

I'll defer to Shane Power on this one -- who says that Stans was a better coach than he got credit for and a much worse recruiter/evaluator than he got credit for.
It's the practice and preparation where things fell completely apart without Kirby. Maybe even Kirby's last year here...
I know this much -- Renardo NEVER got in shape in 3 years here, while Ware dropped 30 lbs and got in shape in his first 3 months on campus. With the SAME strength coach. Explain that to me? Basically, Stans didn't make them work out -- and he let them skip everything Akins tried to get them to do, whereas Ray has them on Akins' program, and it shows BIGTIME.
Stans' arrogance and failure to adapt is what ultimately got him run out of here. Had he gotten good x's and o's/discipline assistants and let them run practice and force the weight program while he just administered and recruited, he would have coached here for life. This adaption is what made Richard Williams so successful in his late years here -- he realized he wasn't a recruiter, so he hired Stans for that purpose -- and together they were a DEADLY combination. Unfortunately, he also had a taste in pom-girls...

You use all of these bad names, but you fail to mention Erick Dampier, Darryl Wilson, Tyrone Washington, Horatio Webster, Quenten Smith, Tang Hamilton, Markell Patterson, Ontatio Harper, Mario Roberts, Winsome Frazier, Shane Power, Timmy Bowers, Derrick Zimmerman, Lawrence Robersts, Brandon VIncent, Charles Rhodes, Ben Hansbrough, Jamont Gordon, Barry Stweart, Jarvis Varnado, etc......
All were good kids who got their degrees and have played some pro ball somewhere after State.

Im not at all.
I like IJ Ready a lot, however the other 2 recruits (Ndoye and Daniels) haven't put up very good numbers. Heck Ndoye doesnt even start for his team and is averagins about 5 and 5. (I know Findley Prep is an all star HS team)
I hope Ray and Flannagan key their recruiting in the MS/AL/TN/LA area.
Im not sold on Hollander as a recruiter. He seems to be more of a practice/development coach as well as the X's and O's guy.

Believe he transferred out and under good coaching got Big East Player of The Year.

I like how you slipped in a bunch of Williams' guys.

He's an excellent basketball mind and will make a great coach one day if he decides to get out of broadcasting...
