This is a young coach who is doing great things at MN.

Think he would be a good fit here? Should this be someone we should offer if Moorhead leaves/is fired?

Only downfall is lack of recruiting ties in the south. He is doing well with a program that typically isn’t very good and I bet we could pay him a lot more

I mean if we could get him yeah

And let's be clear, Moorhead didn't fail because of his ties. He failed because of his stubbornness.

Both Meyer and Saban had 0 ties to the South before they had success at Florida and LSU respectively

Before you get all excited, have you looked at Gophers schedule?

They have 1 real opponent in Penn State, still to play

They still have yet to play Iowa and Wisconsin

The schedule so far
vs San Diego
@ Fresno
vs GA So
@ PU
vs IL
vs UNL
@ RU
vs MD

State would be 9-0 with Gophers schedule and possibly 10-0 if State beat Iowa

Do you realize who our coach is? Slomo loses at least 3 games on that schedule.

At the end of the day 9-0 is still 9-0. Regardless, we shouldn't kid ourselves I don't see anyway we get Fleck. I say this as someone who's a huge fan of the guy and would definitely be the first guy I called if I'm Cohen sans maybe Meyer/Stoops (even then Fleck is more realistic than those two). But I couldn't see him coming here. He will wait on a blue blood at this point.

I agree with ChargerDog. At the end of the day, regardless of schedule, you still have to execute and be prepared. This season has shown a lot of unpreparedness and sloppy execution. Not saying he wouldn't be 8-0 as well but, very unlikely.

:kige:

Just saying Fleck has been in the MAC and the MAC +1 (B1G west)

He gets the kids fired up and that is great where he has been but in the SEC, and the SEC west at that, it is like going from jr varsity to the pros.

It is like you hear folks in the SEC wanting "the pirate" to return but he would get his arse kicked in the SEC vs Texas Tech and Washington State where the defenses are easier,
