Another dominating performance yesterday. The score was actually closer than what the game actually was.

1. I thought Fitz looked okay throwing short and intermediate throws yesterday, but he struggled mightily throwing the deep ball yesterday. He constantly overthrows the receivers. I think we will keep throwing the ball down the field against Louisiana Lafayette this weekend. Hopefully Fitz can build some confidence by completing some deep throws against ULL. I'm not ready to give up on it yet.

2. It typically takes Moorhead's teams 4-5 games to get used to his offense. That would be Kentucky or Florida for us this year.

3. Kylin Hill had more total yards than Kansas State did. He is very explosive; I love watching him run the ball. He should have gotten more carries yesterday, but we were giving Fitz an opportunity to throw and run. Fitz has 19 carries and Hill had 17. Moorhead has said he wanted his quarterbacks to get 10-15 carries per game.
Aeris Williams was hurt yesterday, so that's why Gibson was 2nd string.

4. Dantzler and Peters both got hurt on special teams yesterday. Why were our starting cornerbacks on kickoff coverage when we were up like we were yesterday? Abram is suspended for the first half of the ULL game for targeting. Good thing we're playing a cupcake.

5. Defense had 4 sacks and 8 tackles for loss. That's impressive, especially considering Kansas State's strength is their offensive line. We have 25 tackles for loss through 2 games.

6. Linebackers looked good yesterday. Erroll Thompson had 7 tackles, 1 sack, and an interception. Leo Lewis had 3 tackles and forced a fumble that was taken away by review. Terrible call.

7. Secondary looked much better yesterday. I figured it would.

8. Cole looked very good returning kicks. He is fast.

9. Things I want to see vs. ULL:
• Fitz to improve throwing the ball.
• Secondary to continue to improve.
• An injury free game.

pt1:
In the first Quarter Fitz was throwing way too hard with no touch at all. I thought he would settle down some, particularly after taking some hits -- but he never really got into a good groove. His touch has to improve a lot.

I did like that Moorhead didn't try to force it though and instead mainly went with what was working.

pt 4: when we are thing at corner, not sure why are starters are there -- my assumption is that K St has a good return game, and we wanted to neutralize it. A long return last week is what lifted K-st so that they avoided an upset loss

Really happy with the overall performance.
Manhattan looked like a decently hostile place to play as well.

What was amazing is we pretty much toyed with them trying to get Fitz in the groove. We could have handed the ball to Hill every play and won 50-10

The O line looked good. Saw a lot of their guys on the ground repeatedly during the game. Seems like a lot of communication in the unit.

Exactly. We know we can complete short and intermediate routes, so we're working on the deep ball in these games vs. inferior opponents, so that by the time we play Auburn, we'll hopefully have made a lot of progress. The only way to get better is to keep trying. I hope we throw the ball down the field a ton against ULL.

Penalties are a thing of concern for me.

I'll take the Fitzgerald Passing performance yesterday as I believe he will progress.

I'm now more concerned with Kentucky than I am about Florida.

Yesterday's results make it clear we are building towards the Auburn game. Our biggest home game of the season.

We are currently #5 in the country in opposing 3rd down conversions. Big difference from last year which helps our top 10 defense.

10. We need to get Guidry the ball. He needs way more touches.

I understand starters on coverage in close/big games. Abram got kicked out on kick coverage with a 3 td lead in Q4 in a nonconference game. No need for starters to be out there at that point.

This stood out to me. We can't have stupid penalties in the SEC season. How bad are Peters and Dantzler's injuries?

However, I was pleased with our performance on Saturday.

2 delay of games on the FG attempts.

Horrible.

We had 35 sacks last year. I read that wrong. My fault.
