So I'm taking my MSU graduate girlfriend to the game this weekend and we are staying in Columbus can y'all give any recommendations on either BBQ or fried chicken to take to Starkville? I don't want to really have to cook for the 12 people at our tailgate thanks in advance I just hope it's not a 3-2 repeat

For BBQ get Little Dooeys in Starkville

Yeah, go with Little Dooey. Better call them today. Not sure when they stop taking tailgate orders.
Or you can order from MSU. Think that order would be in by noon today even though it says 3:00. Pick up near the junction so pretty convenient.

Did abners ever reopen? They were good about setting you up for tailgates with chicken fingers

I would not get Dooey's. Worst BBQ in town.

One more question every time I've gone to a game and Starkville I have tailgated with friends in the junction but can't do it this year. The Auburn alumni tent is near the old intramural fields is there place over there that you could set up a tent and some tables?

Just show on Friday afternoon and set up a tent in the junction. the more the merrier

I always liked Petty’s better but I don’t think they do the tailgating setup

I am not a big fan of it either. But it is probably my favorite Fried Catfish in town

The drill field area is a decent spot to tailgate and so is the intramural fields. Been a long time since i've tailgated there. There are usually some spots closer to the hump and just off University drive right when you cross the bridge. Even tho some fairweather fans have bailed this weekend it should still be pretty packed everywhere. Bring plenty of beverages and get there early. You should be good getting there at 11. Cheers
BTW don't be a dick and
Bring garbage bags and throw your trash in them. Seems to be a problem everywhere at every stadium/tailgating area.

Tailgating right across from the intramural fields the old ones this is a great tailgate spot good mix of Mississippi State and Auburn PPL and no I'm not a dick I have garbage bags I'm 53 LOL I yell at people who don't put their garbage in bags. Seriously Mississippi state is a great tailgate place

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. The tailgating atmosphere has come a long way. When I was a kid you popped the trunk, took out the lawn chairs and box of chicken nuggets and listened to the USM or Ole Miss game on the radio. Junction is good if you are into that type of crap but also plenty of places to set up in a more relaxed environment.

Had a great time, other than the getting our arse kicked, thanks for all of the advice and good luck the rest of the year. Also, MSU muscadine ripple ice cream is legit.
