I think the decision will be a tough one for him, but I think you are right, unfortunately.

That pick is worth $549k.

I'm not sure if they will overpay enough to get him from that slot...

hmm RT @JohnLembo1878: #Sandberg and #Philles have agreed on a dollar amount - $775,000 plus four years of education. Hasn't signed yet.

@JohnLembo1878: #Sandberg said Phillies called last night, but chose to go another direction. Changed their minds today.

Oh well...at least it's happening now and I don't have to read about it.

I am sure Mullen will go get another quality QB...

Engie has been saying for months that Cord's dad said it would take 1st round money to sign him. He also said Cord's dad had no reason to lie. So we'll see. Right now that figure is about 800k below 1st round money.

These types of things happen to all fan bases. I can't really fault Mullen for this one...he went after a good QB, and the guy took the money (can't blame Cord either).

I do blame Mullen for not landing anyone else. He really really needs to get Elijah Staley or we are seriously fricked.

We're already fricked. We have 2 competent QBs going into this fall.

Which is the same thing we had to hope for last season. We were fortunate that we got through last year with no real injuries during the season at QB. This year we may not be so lucky as we already are starting off with Turf Toe Dak.
