False, he broke when tyler turned. Tyler should have then checked down to the tight end who was wide fricking open or checked down one more time to the more wide open slot. The tight end might not be as open as he appears because of the secondary. The slot could have possibly taken too much time but Tyler should have known it would be there when three people jumped toward Perk. He was just in too big of a hurry to get the ball out, which also falls on the offensive line for a couple people getting blown back, but he really wasn't in danger yet.

On a flat route by the running back, that is a fricking problem

Even if he does complete this pass, he doesn't get to the first down without at least one whiffed tackle.
No doubt. He should've thrown it to one of the three wide open receivers.

NO NO NO NO!!! My God, just go frame by frame. It's after TR turns to and throws that the LB breaks for Perk. The only real option was Lewis.
Perk should have scrubbed the guy blitzing. It would have given the 1.5 seconds to make that play happen.
The bottom line is the play calling. Watch the first series and note the LBs and the DBs. Then look at this play. They should have thrown some prior to this.

What? There was zero turning back after he committed to perk. Sack or throw.
The OL was out numbered. Bad calling, Perk did not scrub, TR did not see the slot.
All is good though! So long as we call plays like this past weekend and put some bigger backs in earlier.

No one is going to argue with you. It's like the senile man in the nursing home. You just shake your head and walk away.

spoken like some one who doesn't understand how split second these decisions are.
If you understand both the mechanics of a football player and what they are coached, then you would know none of what you said is even coached. (checking your 3rd read on a hot blitz, throwing across your body towards the middle of the defense)
As a defender, when the QB turns his hips as Tyler does here...it's what you break on. Making a throw across your body (which is what you are implying is the first NO NO for big time QBs ie D1/NFL)
And what some don't understand here is that the defense has keys too. They know what play they called..and that there is a free rusher, therefore a quick throw must happen. The QB only has time to make one read (which is what the blitz is designed to do)
Tyler doesn't have the time to check 2 or 3 receivers...if he does, then you and everyone else would be complaining about holding the ball too long. Fact of the matter is if the play was designed better...Perk should have been on the wide side, forcing the LB to cover more space and giving Tyler a bigger window to lay it up for the first down. Especially if he isn't going to even touch the oncoming blitzer, it just makes it a more difficult throw. Short side of the field, over a blitzer, on target, and not out of bounds...
P.S. Stop saying the TE was open...because he wasn't...if you look at the play frame by frame...the only two options are Jameon or Perk.

he's got time to hit Jameon

yes i agree, if that's his initial read or if he never turns his hips to throw to Perkins. He may have had time if he pulls it down, but it would be CLOOOOOSE.
Im just trying to dispell the myths our fanbase have that #1 he stared down perkins and #2 the TE was open on that play.
But looking at the last still shot...who can blame him for throwing it to Perkins?????

Well in a good offense, he is open on the last frame.
eta: Sorry man I am just now noticing the route he ran. I thought he broke across the field. Small gif and bad eyes.

no problem.
it's not just you...75% of the fan base was saying the TE was open..and has said it continuously since. Every time i hear it im like
play design =
QB decision = was...ok based on the last still
play result =

I do not agree with this. I put alot of the blame on TR here. He does not know how to look off a defender. He knows where his receiver is going to be so why the frick is he watching him run the route? Once the defenders saw Perkins they all 3 broke on his route. That is the perfect time for a pump fake to Perkins and then sling it to the downfield receiver. The end was crashing down but if he took one step up he had time to do it.

So now TR isn't suppose tolook at anybody? He doesn't have a check down?

Frack me!! NO NO AND NO!!! They broke when TR made the decision to throw it to him. You have the gif, you have youtube, and you have the stills above.

In what time sir. In what time?? There was nobody available buy him time. The guy blitzing was untouched.
Tr's mistake was not throwing it away based on perkins not scrubbing the LB. That was the down fall of this play.
If perkins makes the scrub, the LB and DBs hang on the down field receivers, perkins slips into the flat with one on one, and Lewis is open.

Darkhorse it pains me to say this, but for the first time I think i'm gonna have to agree with you.

Is DAK ready yet? While I believe he will far exceed most expectations, I don't believe he is ready yet. Example here:
I can show some video footage of him missing the hole in the first half too that would have resulted in a first down.
In this one, he never thought about his option. Had he dumped the ball, it's at least a first.

Oh dear god, our linemen attempting to get to the second level there hurts my eyes. Bad. That's embarrassing.
From the center to the right tackle, they all ended up on the ground without getting in anyone's way
I take that back. Malone cut his guy and slowed him down for a split second.
