He is definitely underrated.

Recruiting rankings are a mystery some times. The offer sheet and the 86 ranking just don't match up. This kid can fling the ball AND run past defenders. WTF?

Probably his size and not super impressive stats. He had a much better sophomore year. Only around 1400 yards and 11 tds as a jr

But whatever, his video looks great and I trust Mullen with QBs

Weight doesn't bother me that much. He's 6'2" and will have a redshirt year to put some lbs on. Take a look at some of our players from freshman to the next year. We can put the weight on

Donald Gray got a ratings boost. Now 4 star on 247 composite.

Moved us up to #10. He also has yet to play a down in Juco so it's not out of the question that he could go higher

Virgil was one of the top dual threat QBs in the country early in the process. Think a couple of questionable performances at Elite 11 events along with size concerns knocked him down in the eyes of these "professionals" that rate such things. They also saw fit to change his profile to "pro style even though his bio says what is clearly obvious(Dual threat QB from Mesquite, Texas), presumably when it looked like he might commit to Texas.

It does seem that our QB recruiting is in a whole different stratosphere with Johnson as QB coach. Khane Pass now being pretty heavily crystal balled to MSU -- and if we pull that off -- we know what it could mean for next year...

Khane Pass would likely finish off safety sans Peters, for now. If Linton bolts, Abrams could slide back in. Steve R has said McLaurin has a spot regardless but we'll see.

IMO you make room for Khane. That's a package deal worth making...

I wouldn't be surprised to see McNair and Linton both flip and open up a bunch of room...

What does it mean? Does he have a freak teammate?

ETA: Just saw where Juwon Pass is the top dual threat in the 2016 class. I assume that is his brother.

Let's just worry about getting Fletcher Adams first.

Yeah, Jawon named us his leader awhile back -- prior to the first CB of Khane to MSU...

I know it's early -- but still. LINK

Khane can commit now, Abrams cannot. He doesn't have an offer yet (just Louisville & USM). Steve R says McLaurin (has MSU offer) has a spot regardless but I'm not 100% sure I agree with that. Khane is higher on the board than either if he can take a safety spot now.

ETA- Khane is a legit safety prospect. He's a good player in his own right. He's a great in to have for Jawon but I'd take Khane even if he didn't have a big-time lil brother.

Grindrant, if y'all had to go with one QB who would you choose? Tiano or Virgil?

I think I'd take Virgil, but wouldn't be upset with Tiano

Virgil for sure. He looks way better than Tiano.
