I hope he keeps the 2015 class going/together just to see all of the MSU fans start to say that stars matter now.

Dude, we already have 4 this early and will sign 26-27 in next years class. Its VERY possible we can have 10 four star guys.

Well, after avergaging one to four 4 stars for all of Mullen's tenure, I doubt any of us here are counting on that to happen, although '15 does look very promising.

The 2015 guys will be composite 4* only until Rivals/ESPN get around to stamping 3*s by their name and never looking at them. Like Aeris being a 3* and #12 player in MS per Rivals.

The 2014 class leaves alot to be desired on paper, that's for sure. Will go a long way toward easing my mind if we get Cory and Stallworth, even if it won't help rankings that much.

Y'all don't have the stars but I think y'all's class is probably more balanced than ours is

I doubt we ever sign a class that is ranked any higher than our 2012/2013 classes, under Mullen. Don't expect us to be getting all these 4* guys, and the out of state ones..you can forget. Big programs in those states aren't going to allow highly ranked players to slip through and sign with us. If things work out well, we will sign about half the guys we want and hopefully pick up some nice overlooked talent off the beaten path. We will also need to have a really nice season to do that.

Possibly... My concern is at DT right now. We got Chris Jones and no one else last year. Writing is on the wall with our depth going to shite there -- with PJ Jones, Eulls, and Virges all being seniors next season -- to go along with the total inability to count on Quay or Nick for anything at this point.

That leaves us in 2015 with Chris Jones entering his last year most likely, Jordan Washington who hasn't shown anything yet, Nelson Adams who has been pretty good in limited snaps, and the Hoyett kid in our current signing class that seems like a WTF take at this point. Not a recipe for continued success in the SEC. Obviously, that's looking a long way ahead -- and there is alot of time and opportunities to fix it. But it would be nice to go ahead and get Cory and Stallworth and basically kill that concern...

Mullen is really good at meeting needs and mixing new signees with returning players.

That is one of the WORST defeatist attitudes that I have EVER SEEN. Did you settle for a fat chick because you didn't think you could get a good looking girl because they were out of your league or too good looking.

I like what our staff is doing and with this deep 2015 class in Mississippi both State and Ole Miss will get some good players, and Mullen and his staff are starting to attract more and more out of State players.

If you have the same attitude on life you have about Mississippi State then you are one sad individual.

There is always JUCO DTs out there in Mississippi we can sign to fill needs if needed and also we could move Trent Simpson to DT if he keeps growing.

Who was the last JUCO DT that stepped in at SEC speed on day 1? Look at Hooks -- as elite as he was, it is taking him awhile to get up to speed.

If we were going to supplement in the JUCO route, we should be doing that right now and adding a guy or two in the 2014 class that could be ready to start in 2015 for a year... Even then, it's just a stop gap...

Pitiful response to a completely sensible point of view. I'm basing things on how we've been able to negotiate the recruiting game with some of the success we've had with Mullen as coach. What I stated has nothing to do with the effort our staff is giving on recruiting next year's class. They are doing a nice job as far as I can see. I also know that it takes a special player to commit to us when they have offers from powerhouse programs. Nothing defeatist about that at all, Al.

Glad you to see your not a defeatist who thinks that we will be lucky to break 6-6 next year. With as much talent as we have back and with the schedule we have no reason we shouldnt be 8-4 next year and that will only help even more with recruits.
