Haven't been following them too closely of late to be honest with you... so I really don't know...
In general, we will get one "surprise" commit at BDC(or within a couple of weeks after it) -- and a couple of expected commits...Last year we didn't get as many...so we'll see.

Well, if you were a betting man, who are you betting on to commit this weekend?
eta: I'm not asking just to rub it in your face if you're wrong. I just literally have no clue who to expect. This is the least I've followed recruiting in the last 3-4 years.

Paul is saying anywhere from 1-4
most likely candidates seem to be
Gerri Green
Keith Holcombe
Aries Williams
Jon Michael Edwards
Jesse Jackson
Shareef White

Same on following it. The board at 24/7 has gotten out of hand, and I've never followed scout or rivals -- so I just check up semi regularly with Paul and Farley's articles.
I think the long baseball run put us(me personally anyway) way behind in following recruiting like we normally would in the dead summer months... By the time that was over, there was only a couple of dead weeks before we're in actual football game mode...so not much time to really catch up IMO...
I'll defer to Jumbo/Paul on it. My "sources" outside the paysite community have been very, very quiet this summer so far. Think Brewster and Melvin were the ones feeding them their information for the most part.
Still wanting to know who the "gamechanger" silent commit is that Farley has eluded to a few different times...
ETA: Pretty cute that I've developed a post stalker on here...

Gamechanger silent commit? Sounds like bs

would like to know about that as well but generally feel that "secret commits" are bs as well

2015 prospects
LB/S Jamal Peters Bassfield HS composite 5* #35 overall
WR Kevin Marion Spanish Fort (Ala.) HS n/r
WR Malik Dear Murrah HS composite 4* #41 overall
DL Fletcher Adams Brandon HS composite 4* and #165 overall(State lock)
LB Timothy Washington Yazoo City HS composite 4* and #290 overall(State lean)
QB Gardner Minshew Brandon HSn/r -- likely 4* and State lean if we take him...
Pretty excited about having all these guys on campus... Hopefully we can make a pretty good ipression on the first 2 on the list. Both are true gamechangers IMO(although I'll be surprised if Peters goes anywhere but OM with his teammates)...

I agree with both of you...He hyped the shite out of it for a little while. But IMO doesn't mean much.
I could see why kids from certain areas would keep it quiet for as long as they could -- Just don't see why Farley would leak that much info without telling us the whole story...

is that the ole miss 24/7 writer's son?
Posted on 7/19/13 at 3:33 pm to jumbo
what's the story on him? I just figure he's an ole miss lock because of his dad.

I don't think he's got an OM offer just yet(I'm sure he will eventually since by all accounts he's a stud)...
Plays on TeamUSA with Pollock, Washington, and O'Donnell and is apparently really good friends with them and seems to like MSU and the prospect of playing with them...
That said, I'd be totally shocked if he didn't end up at OM -- while trying to talk them into flipping with him...

Muffin better get some excitement going with this class. I'm tired of looking at our list of no names right now.

If that happened and I would not be shocked if it did, but the meltdown would reach epic proportions

No doubt.
Thing is -- it seems that all 3 of those guys have good heads on their shoulders, are very intelligent, and seem to be very high character guys. I think as long as we keep Mullen, we keep them. At least that's what they(and their families) have said. Seems obvious to me that if we lose them, we will do so in a fair battle...
I think we lock up Aapri Washington soon as well. And we're starting to recruit a baseball player from that same school that they are friends with.
The more pieces we can lock up like this, the more unlikely they are to all flip...and the more likely the other guy(s) are to come play with them instead IMO...

BLACK ?@coachcamp42 17m Elijah Staley @ES14_ just weighed in at 231 down at SIP STATE!! BEWARE OF THE BEAST!
That's 26lbs over his 24/7 listed weight...
If he's up to 231, it makes it pretty clear that football will be his first priority going forward(which his dad has said before elsewhere).
Dude has the frame to hold alot of weight if he so chooses...

That's good news. Like you said, if he's at 231 now, he definitely has the frame to hold a lot of weight.
