Did I say any of that? No, I said there is possibility it will be improved. As I already stated IMO Clausell is more talented than Carmon and will at least be serviceable enough this year.

Well if one player gets better between his freshmen and sophomore year then all players at that position obviously will, good point.

Name a freshman tackle that State or OM has gotten that had major success early in the SEC?

Sherrod wasn't good until his (true) JR year. He was terrible in 07 and 08. A bunch of our fans were giving him the Bradley Sowell treatment after the '08 Egg Bowl. Then '09 arrives and he looks like a 4* LT, '10 arrives and he looks like a first round LT. It's a crying shame that he didn't get a redshirt year(thanks Croom), giving us the opportunity to bring him back last year(not saying he would or wouldn't have).

Almost NO player that State and OM gets on the OL is ready physically for SEC play prior to their 3rd year on campus. This is proven over and over and over again, due to lack of HS development in MS. We have ONE person on our OL 2-deep now that is younger than a rsSO, and Tobias Smith is the only sr. We have 7 rs SO on our two deep. We've recruited well on the OL, redshirted everyone, and the rewards for this will start to become apparent next season, when the '10 class is rs JRs.

The only reason we're having this discussion is because Croom didn't bother recruiting OL in '08 or '09. Got 1 contributor from each of those classes, then Mullen whiffed(until the '12 class) on JUCO recruiting to fill the void.

You basically made my point for me. My point was you're replacing Carmon with a sophomore and think your OL will get better, and you come back with the argument that Sherrod sucked until his Junior year. Clausell may end up being a good OL one day but I doubt he'll be that good this year

Made your point for you? No. I added the rsSO there for a reason.

Sherrod was a true jr = 3rd year.
Clausell is a rs so = 3rd year.

Clausell will be good this year, much better than anything we saw at LT last season. Probably not Sherrod good, but much better than Carmon ever was.

Sherrod was a true junior meaning he had 2 years of game experience under his belt before he was good his 3rd year, Clausell redshirted his freshmen year and has only had 1 year of game experience. Surely you realize a whole year of in game experience will make a big difference

Carmon was a DT his junior year, did i miss something or did he become a badass LT between his junior and senior year? Seems like he can be replaced. So where is the drop in productivity on the OL for the upcoming fall? The bears seem to be lurking and reaching hard lately.

I tried to use that argument before last season to point out how your OL was going to suck, but according to Bundy and Cornass and others he played LT in highschool and did in fact become a badass LT between his junior and senior year.

And apparently Carmon was better with an injured knee than Clausell 100% healthy

I think you guys will be OK at OL this year.

And if you rank adjectives of positions in the SEC, OK puts you right around the 6-7th in the conference IMHO.
