Last I heard it was between us and A&M?

The guy is getting stuff from Yancy Porter I think it's safe to say to disregard what he says.

I'm not liking that our recruiting has been quite quiet as of late. Am I reading into this too much or are we probably about to take a few huge swing and misses?

I like where we are. We are going to close strong in state, Connor is the only one I think we could miss on this year and I'm getting more optimistic by the day with him. If room opens up you could see them extend an offer to Jones as well in which case he would flip, would be sweet to close out with damn near the entire dandy dozen.

State fans worry too much about kids we have committed, the ones we have are here to stay, relax and watch the last few come in.

Kalio is in the boat and trying to bring fish with him, I have heard this from several people. Plus on Scout Gene came out and said he was 100%, and knowing what he told him off the record he could assure that. I generally just take what they say as raw information rather than truth but Gene doesn't talk about recruiting much at all and when he does you can bank on it. His quote was something like Kalio isn't Cj Johnson, he isn't going to stab anyone in the back and I can tell you from what he has told me on and off the record he is a bulldog.

I feel better about Connor than I did because of the way it is panning out. He isn't hearing the pitch about putting on for your city and competing to win a championship for the state of MS from Ole Miss I promise you, and in the last interview that's what he was weighing against going to Bama. Kalio says that he is going to play where he does even though he may not commit. Connor is making his decision at the UA game and only visiting that school for an official. It just sounds right, if you were in the pressure that he is and you aren't going to Ole Miss you would keep it quiet and when you made your choice you would shut it down. He may go there but if he was going to come to State I think that's how you would do it. I wish we would offer Jones, I think the kid is a player and it helps us even more in state. Connor has really gotten close to Mix, Chris Jones, and Kalio. I could see him deciding to play with them.

Maybe it's the maroon glasses but I think we potentially clean up on signing day. Ole Miss is going to get some great out of state kids but ultimately if we make the move of offering Jones and close strong it really really looks good for what we are trying to do. Keep the MS kids at one place in state.

Meh, Scout has a pretty good track record as of late. And I've only seen Gene even comment on recruiting a few times, he generally leaves all of that to Rosebowl.

He said he was only visiting the school he announces to at the UA game. I like to think he will be in Stark with the rest after. I'm not giving us an edge at all but everything I heard last week sounded better. I didn't see anything that would indicate he is an OM lean.

Also did you notice Shumpert wearing his big dawg under armor for the game? Not sure what all it means but it means he isn't leaning the other way for sure.
