Carroll Washington... if we do end up with this guy, I think we will have the best secondary in the nation. I also think it might allow for cox to spend some time on offense!

Let's discuss this post you made.

You do realize we are graduating Banks(the best defensive back in the nation), Slay, and Broomfield don't you? I think Jiles, Redmond, Cox, Washington (if we do flip him), and Love all have a big upside, but I have no idea what would make you believe they will be the best secondary in the nation, after losing some of best ever DBs.

Why would be move the #1 JUCO DB to WR? Especially when we need immediate help in the secondary. Do you realize how dumb that sounds? That would be like me suggesting to move Corey Smith to cornerback.

He's 6'2 and runs a 4.28! Obviously a wide receiver.

Req, I got a question. After the article from the other day about Mac Alexander, do you feel we have any chance whatsoever? I highly doubt it, but he would certainly be a nice addition.

Just got to get him on an OV along with his brother Mackenro. Was supposed to come this weekend, but their football team keeps winning on the backs of these two brothers. Playing for a Florida state championship in Orlando next weekend.

It's most likely between us, OM, and UK if they want to play together... In that situation, I would really like our chances...

I do!

That's not a very large reach. First, we had weakness in this years secondary. My comments are made as a collective unit.

Second, We have way more than you listed.

1- Jiles
2- Redmond
3- Love
4- Arrington
5- Whitley
6- Calhoun
7- Hughes
8- Market

Of all of those, Redmond, Whitley, Arrington, Love, Hughes could get the job done. Calhounhad alot of playing time. I don't think the lights have come for him yet.

Coming in this year that could help would be:

1- Coman. JC player we recruited and signed out of HS.

In the mix with

1- Washington
2- Jones (JC)
3- Willis (JC)
4- Shump 4 star
5- Conner 5 star

We may not end up with another recruit. But we are plenty deep. Notice I did not mention Cox. Without him, our secondary could be made up of all 4 and 5 star players.

Now look at the other side of the field. We did not have a down field threat. That allowed DBs key on the run more so. If we can stretch them down field it helps the run.

Who do we now have that can do that? Cox can. He played offense in HS. Was and is much better than Carr! He runs a 4.28. His size is good. His hands are good.

Corey Smith to CB.. Not sure he has ever played CB, But I know Cox has played offense!

Tommy Sanders announcing on Wednesday per 24/7... expected to be between us and A&M, and it doesn't look like A&M has any room.

I read somewhere else that Za'Darius is announcing Friday, but I can't find confirmation on that one yet.

Chances are Jiles will beat out Love, Redmond and Calhoun for starting CB next year, but aside from that, let's discuss this.

Redmond will be a redshirt freshman. Love I think is under-appreciated, but by no means a top corner. Whitley cannot cover. I'm not completely convinced he knows what he's supposed to be doing every play, he just always goes for the hit and doesn't even take good angles. Arrington hasn't had much playtime, but hasn't been noticeable when he plays, so we can't really say if he'll be good or bad. We will be in trouble if Hughes is starting. So basically you're relying on four guys who have never gotten significant time and a safety that can't cover to be our depth.

1-Arkansas commit that we may or may not flip, but we're not expecting to. Not to mention with Arkansas's defensive troubles the new coach Bielema is gonna be all out for him.
2-Jones? No idea who the hell you're talking about here. If by JC you mean JuCo, then he's not in the top 10 CB's, Safeties, or athletes in JuCo, and if he can't ball out in JuCo, he's not gonna ball out in the SEC.
3-Assuming your talking about Nate Willis and not Priest Willis. Nate's good, but he's not as good as Cox, and we're not going to move him so we can put a worse player out there.
4- :roflmao: Shump will probably play offense, and even if he doesn't he's much more suited to play linebacker than safety.
5-So you want a true freshman to lead our secondary to be one of the best in the nation? One whom we don't really have that much of a chance with?

If we started all freshman and juco's. None of whom would be better on day one than Cox.

Nice deflection on saying "Cox has played offense". He played QB at West Point. We've signed Corey Smith and Jeremy Chappelle. Corey Smith is gonna be a sick slot receiver. Chappelle is just as tall as Cox and has the benefit of another 20 pounds. As fast as Cox is if he's in the endzone he's either gonna be one on one with a really good corner or double teamed, and he's gonna get beat out because of his size. RoJo has started to put it together. Brewster is gonna have the entire offseason to work RoJo and Morrow, as well as the two JuCo's, instead of coming in two weeks before the seasons starts. Cox has been playing the last two years in the secondary, lead his team the last two years, and was second on his team in tackles this year. He will walk on campus and be the most talented AND experienced CB we have. If we put him at WR, he'd be less experienced at the position than anybody else we have, including the incoming true freshman. Putting Cox at WR would be a mismanagement and a waste of talent.

With Malcolm Johnson being able to lift for an entire off-season and getting coached by Brewster, while getting passes from Tyler Russell, I expect him to be one of the best tight ends in the country next season.

Long as we keep him away from scooters

I'm also hoping that Rufus Warren will develop more this offseason, so that we can start using him more often in blocking situations. He's a hell of a lot bigger than MoJo or Green.

I'm glad to see we are showing interest in Asantii Woulard (4* Dual Threat QB). Engie called it.

@Asiantii_2: Had a long talk with coach Koenning from @mstatefb, went really well! #Bulldogs

LOl.. it's just not that important to me to argue about.

It's already been stated that CDM has not told him the exact position. He did meet with the safties on his last visit though.

If he plays at CB, GREAT!! he can do it!

If he plays at Safty!! GREAT he can do it!

If he plays at WR, Great! No doubts that he can do that!

Now to the other recruits..

Nate Willis.. yes. The other is Riyahd Jones, and yes he's legit.

We have a great shot at Conner.
