Isn't this the move we should be making in recruiting? It is extremely hard to beat out UGA, Bama, LSU....etc for recruits. But we can go steal the good ones from Washington, Utah...others.

Heck yes if they want to play in the SEC.

The first thing Mullen wanted to do was establish in state recruiting. We own the state of MS, I think it makes sense to now stretch out and get the national guys rather than the ones in the SEC's back yard.

One of the top players in not only Washington state, but the entire nation, is all set to come visit Mississippi State. Bellevue High School linebacker Myles Jack contacted TheDawgWalk.com on Monday night and informed me of his intentions. Jack has some very good reasons for visiting the Bulldogs and shared a few of those reasons on Monday. “I am a southern boy at heart,” said Jack. “I am originally from Georgia so I know all about SEC football. I am going to be visiting MSU on January the 25th and I can not wait. Its a chance to play football in the SEC and that gets your attention. I a taking a visit down there for one reason, its SEC football! I want to be put in the best opportunity and right now I feel like my best two options are MSU and UCLA hands down. The official visit is going to determine where I go because I have family in Georgia and they can come watch me at MSU. My mom really wants me to come visit MSU so I am going to.” Keep up with TheDawgWalk.com for more on Jacks interest in MSU in the coming days.

Seems like we've got a really good shot at this one. Brewster is doing more recruiting than the rest of our staff combined. This is starting to shed light on the fact that many of our coaches are either lazy or bad recruiters.

We need one coach almost singlehandedly focused in Texas. We won't beat UT, A&M, or LSU for those players, but we should be competitive with the other 15 programs that state feeds...

I couldn't agree more on both points.

Brewster is going to land us at least one big time recruit that we weren't expecting this year. Bank on it.

I'm not worried about Brewster landing big recruits this year. He came in late in the game, but the fact that he is getting kids to visit speaks volume.

Next year he will do work

I wouldn't go so far as to say that.

Team Rankings:
Scout - 14
247 - 22
Rivals - 28
ESPN - 27

So we have approximately the 22nd ranked class in the nation. I think we will finish somewhere in the 15-20 range. This is an improvement over the past few years... and is not the result of laziness or poor recruiting.

Brewster is by far our best recruiter. His recruiting skills should rub off on our other coaches... I think you will begin to see the effect of that next year.
