So, I'm listening to Larry Glover a couple of night ago. I don't think too much of him, he has the same callers every night, but he was in a discussion with a caller stating that UK had "turned a corner". I've heard this mentioned a couple of times in the last few days.

I'm not sold on it at all. Today will tell me a lot. An inferior SEC team on the road. Must win game. Then I might think we are making forward progress.

Currently we are 4-3, a bad loss at home to Southern Miss, compounded by the loss of a 25 point lead. Blowouts to Florida and Alabama, and Florida isn't that good.
We haven't beaten a team we should not have beaten yet this season, so I don't get the turn the corner comments.

I do think that we expected to have Barker and Johnson, while being erratic and fumble prone, has shown some ability to be a decent QB, so I would say that with Barker being out, we probably has done a bit better, but I wouldn't call it turning a corner.

Other than UL, the remaining schedule is manageable. We should beat Missouri on the road, and should beat Georgia at home, they seem quite mediocre. UT on the road is probably a loss (I just bought tickets to the game), but I did see the UT/Bama game in person, and they looked dreadful against Bama (of course most everyone does), so I don't really consider that game an automatic loss at this point.

What are your thoughts, has UK turned a corner?

I reminds me some of Brooks' team in 2006. I think they've improved markedly on defense since the Southern Miss game. But to really turn a corner, they have to get this one on the road and work on gettin back to a bowl. Otherwise they're just another 5-7 team who couldn't finish when they needed to.

Getting back to a bowl = turning the corner for me. How they handle themselves in an early start while getting some chatter about the East standings will be the biggest tell.

Glad for the win. Looked good till the last 6 or so minutes, but I will give them a break for being up so much. Not used to being in that position.

With all that said, we should beat an average Georgia team at home next week. That now becomes a crucial game to me at this point. You have to win games against average competition, especially at home.
