Apologies for not posting more football stuff post-USCe, but I've been out of town and been a little preoccupied ( ).

Stoops Transcript on UKAthletics.com from Monday Presser

Some interesting stuff today. Had some comments about essentially being part of the Saban "tree" (picked up a lot of stuff from Jimbo Fisher who learned under Saban).

Got this little bit about the phantom, super-bullshite 12 man on the field call:

quote:

Q. (Question regarding if the SEC reached out about the penalty late in Saturday’s game.)
COACH STOOPS: Yes. Yes, they just got off the phone with Steve Shaw, the head of the officials and they made a mistake. They were wrong.

Q. Did he call you or did you call him?
COACH STOOPS: I called him yesterday. And I called him today. (Laughter). No, Steve does an outstanding job I really do. We have great officials in this league, very high integrity, and I have a lot of confidence in Steve Shaw.

Damn SEC officiating assholes.

quote:

Q. How is (Alvin) Bud (Dupree)?
COACH STOOPS: We'll see. I think he is he's sore, swelled a little bit. We'll see. I really don't know to be honest with you. He'll probably be day to day most of this week.

Hatcher and Williamson has also been playing through injury.

Also sounds like Whitlow has solidified himself as starter for now.

Good stuff as always Belle

I've been as critical as anyone wondering if Whitlow could be "the guy", and while I'm still not sold overall, he played very well against SC, and they should shelve the platooning for another game at least and see how Whitlow does.
I wish they hadn't gotten down so quickly by so much, but overall a good performance. Need the DB's to play better for sure, but this team is improving. No blowouts in this stretch so far, and if they can play decent with Bama, I see wins coming after this weekend.

Good luck tomorrow. Hope it's an injury free day.
