Also, Cats play a top mid major this weekend when Central Michigan comes to Rupp.

Watching the game now. Samantha Drake is done for the season. Scary looking injury.

You know, I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but isn't it a little much to be pressing the entire game when you are kicking the shite out of someone? I mean it just rubs me a little wrong.

It is the system. It means staying conditioned to run 40 min at full speed each and every game. When you substitute entire teams it is not like you are just sending in the scrubs late in the game. With 13 scholarships and 2 already out for the season Matthew is just playing with 11 women on the team, that is 2 rotations and a spare.

I understand why he says he does it. That doesn't mean it's right or wrong. It just doesn't sit well with me and if some team was doing it to us we'd be pissed.

I agree with this part. The bigger issue is scheduling. UK plays 3 of the Top 10 teams in the pre conference and 3 of the Top 10 in the mid majors pre conference. Part of this is due to with UK getting better they can no longer get B1G and A10 close by to play anymore. Instead of UK vs Michigan or UK vs Indiana the Cats must now schedule a Lipscomb or Georgia Southern.

A bigger issue is the fans who do not follow the sport not understanding which are the good secondary schools UK is playing. A win at MTSU on Sunday does not look like a big win but the Blue Raiders have solid teams and had a top daft pick a year or two ago. They also recruit central KY and have had players from powers like Scott County on the rosters.

I understand what you are saying, but I guess I'm not expressing it well enough. I love the attitude and style that Mitchell is selling to the players. 40 minutes. OK. But when you are up 50 with 10 minutes to go, what point does it serve to continue to press? The last game we played, we didn't impress anyone pressing with 2 minutes to go.

What is telling to me is the HUGE drop off in talent in women's basketball outside the top 30-40 programs. Looking at the top 25 scores week in and week out, any time a ranked school plays a non-ranked school, it is like a 30,40,50 or more point win. Women's NCAA Tourney is just as telling has the same schools win the title year in and year out. Not sure how to fix it though.

Bigger issue is getting the talent spread out more. With all the coverage ESPN gives Uconn and the ACC (including ND and UL) they need to get SEC ball more exposure at the national level. If ESPN would spread balanced coverage over Top 25 teams and not just 3-4 in the Top 25 it would really help broaden the national fan base.
