Did Straws just say Nuss was a brilliant offensive mind? The same Nuss that was forced to leave Bama and oversaw some of the worst offenses in recent cfb history? Lol. Anything he says is irrelevant.

As for recruiters

Tosh Lupoi
Charlie Strong
Steve Addazio as an assistant
Tee Martin
Rodney Garner
Eddie Gran
TRob
Tim Brewster
Ed O
Dameyune Craig
Venables

Etc

If Mac had 4 of these guys on staff Wed be killing it.

LB- Tosh
TE- Brewster
DL- ED O
OL- Steve A
DC- Strong.
That is a staff of great coaches and recruiters

You would never hear a peep from me.

Dude.... Adazzio and Strong are fricking head coaches. Ed O? Interesting, and maybe.

Tim Brewster? Maybe as a recruiter - how many great TEs has FSU had since 2013? Tosh is a west coast guy isn't he?

That would be an all star staff that would cost 80 million and would stick together 1 year maybe.

Get real.

So you didn't like Will Hill, Dom Easley, Shariff Floyd, Chaz Green, Dowling becoming gators. Because he was the primary recruiter for all of them.

Steve Addazio might be a good recruiter, but he can't coach for shite. Just look at the job he did in '09-'10 as OC when Mullen left.

You can't be serious. Charlie Strong and Addazio are about to be fired. Tosh is at Bama as OLB coach. Look at Greg Schiano, Gene Chizik, etc. They were HCs where are they now? LBers coach and DC. We don't need an all world TE coach but I'd love to get Dalvin Cook,Malik Henry, Phillips, James Cook, several top OL, etc. That staff wouldn't cost $80M don't be absurd. At most $7M for Mac's staff if the AD wants to spend the money. The thing is spending the money wisely not giving raises to Collins because he's had all world talent while coaching against scrubs.

You want to see a coach who can adapt his system to fit his personnel instead of not adapting like Mac? Look at Bobby Petrino. He ran a a pro style for most of his career and now runs a pistol read option with Lemar Jackson. Saban even has gone to the read option more and more. Mac needs elite talent for his system to work completely. To do that he needs to upgrade the defensive staff and OL. Otherwise he will beat the cupcakes but not the elite teams.

quote:

Petrino family coaching tree has a pretty simple offensive philosophy. Don’t get caught up in shoehorning a team into a pro-style, option or spread offense.

Just feed the studs.

“Find the best way to get the best player the ball,” Paul Petrino, younger brother of Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino, said.

quote:

In 13 seasons as a head coach, Bobby Petrino has relied almost exclusively on classic dropback passers. For his first full recruiting class in his second stint at Louisville, in 2015, he was only interested in “home-run threats” as both a passer and runner. It was a break from Bobby’s mold, but there was a foundation for a dual-threat option in his lengthy offensive database.

quote:

He’s always had the zone-read in the system but he’s just expanded it,” Paul said. “... One of the best things Bobby has always done is we have a big menu on offense. It’s about what the quarterback can do. You’re never going to pass up an unbelievable talent. You adjust.”

Mac could've changed his scheme to fit Treon or try Jacob Guy. He did neither and it backfired

No you wouldn't because they'd be hauling in 4-5*s all over the place. Skipper, Gray and Dixon are our best recruiters the rest including Mac are average to terrible

I was exaggerating when I said 80 million.

Also the staff will never stay together. Ever in a million years, longer than 1-2 years.

Even if the AD was willing to shell out the money to make it happen.

TJ's crazy, never said Nuss' was a fantastic OC, said we were doing better on Offense which we are -- statiscally and aesthetically.

That being said, we could win out and go to Atlanta and TJ would still bitch and moan.
