But he played decently against the best DL in the country.

We need both Trask and Jones for every game to win. Both gives the offense a different look.

Yeah, he needs to feel that collapse just a split second earlier.

Played that second half on a sprained MCL... Tough mofo.

We need to turn the entire playbook on its head.

We can't ask him to just sit in the pocket and read the field. It's time to move to a 1 - 2 read offense and start to have different looks. However, I like our chances going forward.

We'll drop the LSU game, but the rest of the season I feel good about.

First, we aint dropping shite. Kittens # 2 are porous as hell and our defense smokes them.

Secondly, we won the AU game with our defense, we had a lot of three and outs and turnovers...yet only gave up 13 points.

Trask had no chance to throw long....DBs and LBs were all packed in tight because they knew their DL wouldn't give Trask time to throw. I still think we need six OL to keep Trask upright. Our TEs haven't blocked all that well...but thank God for Pitts and his pass catching ability....and for AU to continue to put a LBer against Swain.

I don't think it's so much because I think LSU is better than us as it is I think our offensive line is bad at home, when they can hear.

How shitty will they be when they can't hear anything, don't understand their assignments and are struggling to communicate between them?

A lot of it is going to rely on our players breaking tackles, and they just don't seem to have that capacity until very late. Our players seem to go down easier.

They will have hand signals. I actually think we will run much better than other games.

Have faith in our offense & defense + special teams.

FWIW, LSUs front 7 is nowhere near how good Auburn’s is.

Trask definitely needs to protect the ball, but we also have to get the ball out. Most of his strip sacks have been from his arm getting hit, and it's from the front and back.

Like I've been saying: Mullen must change his game up. We have to be more dynamic, smarter and adapt to our team.

There is zero power running, and every second and six I watch where we run it up the middle I pretty much say to myself: Might as well just find a one on one and throw it up for grabs -- or better yet just down it. The chances of our running game getting anything established is slim to none. All of our big runs come in the 4th quarter.

Before then I wouldn't even bother with a traditional running look.

We can't play a traditional power spread because:

1. We don't have the QB.

2. We don't have the line.

Period.

It's not because the defense is ready, or we're just not calling it at the right time, or we're just getting some bad luck with guys jumping our snap count.

It's just not there.

If I'm Mullen, my entire offensive philosophy changes like this:

No more long developing pass plays. If we're going deep, send them in streaks and just get ready to bomb it to them. No double moves, no rub routes, nothing fancy, nothing great, just get the fricking ball out.

If they're short routes, start multiple mesh and drag routes to loosen things up.

Seriously, it seems we just have "drop back and look until you're sacked or throw it", it's a terrible gameplan and doesn't help the QB out at all.

Look at the Texas game again. Our O is as good as Texas (Ehlinger is better) and Texas scored well against LSU’s big bad DB’s and so should Trask. The difference is that our D, especially the secondary, is much better than what Texas was able to put out there (freshman). I think we win a close one.

I trust Mullen to call a game better than anyone on this board. I get that you want the ball out fast, but in the 2nd half, they were press covering everyone across the LOS because they knew the DL wouldn't give us time to throw. You have to keep mixing it up and something will eventually pop. Like the run did in the 4th quarter. I would rather give up a sack than a pick 6. Even a strip sack because those fatties can't make it to the goal line line a DB can.

As far as Trask is concerned, he is a tough cookie and I was excited to see him flush out of the pocket and complete a pass. Thinking and hoping the game is starting to slow down for him so he can feel the pressure and buy a little extra time, or protect the ball when it breaks down. He has less game experience than Nix when it comes to live fire in the NCAA/SEC. I think he will continue to improve.

I trust Mullen to find the mismatches and I trust Trask to make the throws but at the same time Trask has got to have a clock in his head to get the ball out or tuck it. Cant have 3 fumbles and expect to win every game.

I think our Defense humbles ol Joe as he hasnt played one all season

You can't teach that mental clock without playing.

Unfortunately it is what it is.

I get that box but unfortunately he has at least 1 in every game he has started 1 against tenner 1 against Towson and 3 against aubbie this has to come to an end this week if the name was Franks and not Trask what would people on this board ( mainly straws)be talking about they would be crucifying him sorry but Mullen needs to be all over Trask this week about ball security.

His pluses outweigh his minuses so far.

He makes good decisions throwing the ball.

Mullen will be all over him about ball security though.
