3rd down killed us on offense and defense. It’s crazy we only lost by 7 .

If I'm not mistaken that was Trey Dean who, let's just stack it on:

Didn't read the QB's eyes at all.
Took a horrendous angle.
Missed the tackle.



Why are we even playing zone, though? Just to play two deep safety and man up. We have the personnel, especially on the perimeter. I'd also like to start seeing Elam rotate.

I sincerely don't understand why we're playing so much zone when we have two lockdown corners. It's such a bizarre mentality.

Like I said in another thread: Grantham is getting beat for being too conservative and most of his criticism is that he's too aggressive.

I'd kill for aggressive.

We know for a fact that he can play outside CB, I have no idea if he'd be that much better at Safety but at least we know he's big and strong enough to hit someone as well.

I think there's a lot of unhappiness in the secondary, and Grantham has said several times that he lets his safeties rotate themselves (what lol).

A big part of Football is being cognizant enough to understand certain things don't work -- and when they don't work figure out how you can make it work.

We may even need to start running some dime packages and just have our players spread out a little more with some speed. Especially since we seem to get beat by whoever is being covered by our linebackers.
