I think Franks and pass defense are equally to blame, tbh. We're definitely not going to compete for championships with Franks at QB. We have a good chance of winning 10 games this season, which is a successful first season no matter what, but I'm ready for Emory or Jalon.

All that is true. I actually think we regress next year because there’s no way we retain everyone on this defense. They’re too good. The front 7 i mean.

Our pass defense should improve greatly next year, though. With a healthy Marco and CJ this is a really good secondary, but without them, it's balls. I think there's a good chance CGJ leaves but everyone else should be back there.

But, yeah, Polite, CeCe, and Zuniga are all likely gone.

Cece is a senior, so he’s definitely gone.

That's why I said they're all likely gone, as in all of them.

At least CJ Henderson and Marco Wilson are sophs, so they will be back but gone after that. Trey Dean is a true soph and is going to be much better next year. Our safties will all be back. Chauncey probably gone but he may not grade that high and decide to stay. Behind our starters is a mess of non SEC type players.

Conliffe and Slaton have disappeared on the DL and with all reports of injuries/suspensions handled like CIA secrets, we don't know their status. Yesterday Kyree Campbell was at nose most of the day and he is a soph. We also had guys like Ancrum, Dunlap, Clark (sr) and our WV transfer playing a lot. Ancrum was a starter also.
We are redshirting Andrew Chatfield who is supposed to be a pass rushing demon and Langham...r/s frosh Zach Carter is injured? DL will be a priority in recruiting along with a lot of positions.

God help us in two years if we don't get some good talent to replace what we lose next year.

Our secondary is gonna be legit next year when Marco comes back.

LBs should also be really good too.

DL will be the question mark if Zuniga and Polite both leave.

We need depth and experience on D. Hope we get the cruits we need and the current players mature.

It's all I've been saying.

However: No, it's not equally on the defense. The defense held Georgia (despite terrible field position) within six points at half. Our defense held them 7 times on the goal line.

Franks had 85 yards in three and a half quarters, which is inexcusable no matter what the circumstances. Those yards don't just measure distance, they measure time of possession.

Time of possession means less plays with a defense that doesn't have its legs and is missing three different starting defensive backs.

This is solely on Franks' shoulders, he missed wide open passes (including one for an easy touchdown), at this level if you seriously can't see a wide open checkdown, you are not going to advance.

I think Zuniga will be back.

Him, Zach Carter, Jeremiah Moon, Andrew Chatfield, Luke Ancrum, and our DTs will be fine. Plus more depth and continued solid linebacker play. Plus another year in the system. We’ll be solid again next year on the front 7.

Secondary should make it even better too. Marco and Hendo, very experienced Trey Dean, Brad Stewart/Shawn Davis/Jeawon Taylor/Donovan Stiner, PLUS Chris Steele and/or Kaiir Elam coming in. Secondary next year will be a lot different coming into Jax than what we saw last night. Not trusting our cover corners to lock down their receivers forced Grantham to lay back and got us out of our attacking style and exotic blitzes. Unfortunate

Hopefully we land another DT in this class with a DE or 2. At LB we will be good as we have 3 top guys coming in and I saw we may get a 4th. Secondary will be a strength next year with everyone healthy.
Offensively the Main thing is a Mullen QB fit.

Mullen joked about talk of freshman QB having impact on game (Justin Fields), while Emory Jones did: 'He's a pretty dynamic player. His numbers were better than their freshman quarterback's numbers.'

Mullen troll master lol
