I do agree if he was a competitor like he said he would be here.

That was my biggest fault is that I believed in what he was saying week to week, even if it reeked of mindless coach speak. He said he judged himself by the competition he played, and that having a new challenge every week was something he liked.

He began to lose me on Wednesday when UCLA reporters were saying that he was leveraging Florida and UCLA against each other (which isn't unheard of, and should be expected) but then he really lost me when he leveraged his unemployment against UCLA. I mean, obviously take it with a grain of salt, but I don't think UCLA fans have any reason to bullshite about this, or make up lies or stories.

That was per Biggins, by the way, about him leveraging his unemployment.

I'm legitimately happy we didn't land him at this point, if we can put more money to upgrading our facilities and building an all-star assistants crew around our next HC.

Let's hope that's the way it goes. I think Striklin will do it.
Did you hear our request to maintain some of the current staff hurt us. Someone eluded that they think he talked to Mac.

Here is a quote from an SI article.
Kelly met with UCLA leadership 24 hours after his sit-down with UF. The Bruins meeting took place in San Francisco, not in Los Angeles as previously had been reported. One of the big pushes for Kelly wasn’t on the financial end for him but rather to ensure UCLA’s commitment to his vision to develop and optimize the experience of its student-athletes. It was also important to Kelly who he was working with and to feel good about those folks. He’d taken note of a few other situations where the leadership had been pretty dubious in how some programs treated their staff.

I know he talked to one ex-HC officially (Meyer) but I had heard several reports from our Insiders that he talked to multiple ex-HCs to get an idea about our program -- I also posted like six times maybe in this thread alone that I feared that our UAA/Boosters were too involved in the football program. I have thought, for a long time, that we are obsessed with the Bama Blueprint, and I think we only go for coaches who will give us that type of offense without understanding two basic principles:

Muschamp did not leave us the offensive line, the WR corps nor the quarterback to run an Alabama offense.

Our team has been recruiting spread players (because we live in Florida) for the last decade.

I am not saying that our UAA is at fault, but it is highly suspicious that five offensive coordinators (Adazzio, Weis, Pease, Roper, Nussmeier) have all had the exact same offense every single year for the past decade.

There is too much smoke in that regard -- but I also have no doubt that Kelly knew that and Stricklin gave him promises regarding it. Did he believe us? Probably not, I haven't a clue -- all I know is that both UF and UCLA were both very upset with how he was handling the negotiations as a whole.

Told everyone from the beginning to not believe in the ole chipper and Straws had everyone believing he was a done deal and following flights

Guess I am still a troll but now not only did we not get chipper we have shoot our self in the foot with FROST 0% chance he comes to Florida now we have to settle for someone far less capable of getting us where we want to go. Keeping this class together is not happening

I have never said he was coming, I said I was sure. I made it a point not to say 100%, and I made it a point to tell every shitbird on this forum to stop posting dates.

Just saying that I was never 100% on him coming here. 99, but never 100% and he left for the reason I said he would.

For being a coward, bruv.

I stayed back on this shite but NEVER EVER had the feeling that Chip Kelly was a fit here. He was quoted (google it) (about fours ago I think) that he HATED recruiting. WTF? I didn't want any part of his pompous arse.

Need southern experience, Florida experience and such an aversion to losing that he will throw shite. Period.

Anyone watching the game today (had to turn off volume to drown out Beth Mowins or whatever her name is, grates on my ears) can see that Franks is lost. He is scared to death of a pass rush....keeps moving his fricking feet and 95% runs into a pass rusher. There was one play though that Perine just freaking blew on blocking...instead of waiting a second to see where a pass rush is coming from, he moves up to the middle of the scrimmage line to block no one. The pass rusher was free from the edge to sack Franks. WHO the frick is teaching the RBs to block? Bugs Bunny?

No coach can teach a QB not to be scared of a pass rush AND most times he has had an opportunity to stand tall in the pocket and deliver. He runs and then misses wide open WRs.

Franks will need another year, like 2019 maybe.

You're crazy. You were arguing there was almost no way he's going to UCLA last week. That UF was a done deal

I was hoping Franks would improve as the season went along. He actually got worse, but you know, with this coaching staff, that doesn't fricking surprise me.

I'll be happy if I never have to watch Franks again, simply because it will just remind me of how bad this fricking staff was at developing QBs.

The reason why you're hawking discord is because you've been wrong multiple times, bashed people who questioned you and act like you know it all. Then when you're wrong you cop pleas like a woman who's been caught cheating. That's good though. Have fun bruh.

Give it up man. It's hard to argue with somebody that constantly moves the goalposts. We have a poster that's almost as bad as him so I know the struggle.

I won't be done, but I think Norvell is going to have an uphill battle convincing any of us that he isn't the next McElwain. If he get's hired and has a seven win season or less, Stricklin may have a pit-fork-wielding mob to deal with. I'm not even sure that is really fair or would mean Norvell isn't going to be fine, but it's what will happen, and I will probably get as caught up in it as anyone else. I'm tired of being terrible too.
