Some of the bigger boys on Gator Country who seem to be reliable have basically said it is done, and sounds like possibly we might have an announcement tonight.

Do you guys think Kelly was Stricklin’s first choice? Andy Staples was questioning why he wasn’t hired sooner if he was first choice. I think it seems like a pretty quick hire. Just wonder if Frost said no thanks.

Frost was number 1 until Kelly reached out recently. Stricklin was probably thinking "holy shite I did not even think getting of Kelly."
The vetting and clearance of Kelly would take some time. He has a show cause, UF needed to fine out if Kelly could be cleared without it getting out. It has only been 16 days since UF fired Mac. This would be a very quick turnaround by Stricklin.

seems like he got in touch with frost and frost will be headed to nebraska. home is where the heart is etc. can't blame him and good luck to him.
he probably sent feelers out to several candidates. maybe he just heard back from kelly.
kelly was definitely my first choice. still not sure why people wanted frost instead. seems like selling out the present for future security because of age, etc.

FWIW, according to flight aware, the plane that was scheduled to leave gainesville for Windsor Locks, CT at 2:30 pm is still sitting at Gainesville Regional Airport.
