The Florida fans claiming "Chip Kelly is a done deal" are an embarrassment to our program.

The Florida fans that are claiming that Chip Kelly is a done deal are a black eye to our sports program and university.

They're just hoping beyond hope that he comes here and claiming that will make it happen. But the truth is, nothing is a done deal, period, until UF announces it or credible sources claim it. Nothing I have seen is a credible source claiming that it's a done deal.

This is reminiscent of LSU fans claiming Herman was a "done deal." We saw how that worked out...

We all need to simmer the frick down and just see what happens and hope Stricklin doesn't frick this up.

Just my two cents.

That’s about what your opinion on that topic is worth. Maybe .01.

i see your point, but this really just shows how invested our fan base is in the program.

it's harmless to the process as a whole. i think streak smoklin actually gets a kick out of it.

Been saying this for a over a week but straws is so chipper drunk that no chipper could call him directly and say I'm not going to Florida and he would still swear he is a done deal

The problem is that these guy fall for ''dates''.

1. We sent our President, AD, the director of the UAA and all the top brass we had to ''talk'' with Chip.

2. Chip is not denying the rumors when he has done so very harshly in the past.

3. We are an easy program for a real head coach who wants to win to be in -- McElwain was killed when he stopped giving two shits after the Michigan game.

UCLA is literally the only threat, because I just don't think he wants to go to A&M where defense is optional.

If he wants a high powered offense with a strong defense, Florida is 100% his chance. If he wants to go to for National Titles, and I have no doubt in every fiber of my being he does, Florida is the place to go.

McElwain has more division titles in the past two years than UCLA has in the past 20.

KELLY IS A DONE DEAL as far as things go, and it wouldn't surprise me if they've already signed off on a post-date (after the season to specifically guarantee him his buyout from the NFL), but he's coming to Florida barring some freak accident set up by our UAA/Spurrier/Foley/Whatever new boogey man there is.

You're 100% right I don't know why everyone is so damn confident, Stricklin has never hired a football coach and hasn't proven a damn thing yet. He could absolutely be getting played right now, I don't think he is and I think he already regrets his stupid twitter posts from earlier getting this whole ordeal started. I'll be doing cartwheels in the street if it ends up being Kelly but until he is at the press conference I'm done giving benefit of the doubt to anyone associated with our football program until they prove it. We need to wait and see what happens, because anybody who can't see a path where this goes badly is burying there head in the sand in my opinion.

Stricklin being played is possible. The whole AD including the president? Highly unlikely.

Remember paid sites are trying to do ONE thing....sell subscriptions and everyone is lathered into a frenzy. Geez Louise guys, cant you wait?

Chip Kelly may very well be our next HC...but don't set yourself up for failure...and don't blame Stricklin either as I know most will if it doesn't go down.

If Kelly isn't our next HC, it will not be fair to our new HC.....but some of you just plunge head on into this and no one can convince you of anything. Relax. Let this play out. Kelly may have made demands that the UAA aren't going to meet and their job is to do what is right for the school....not make you happy short term.

I really hate this false equivalence wherein people say ''negative people see negative things and think them true, positive people do the same thing with positive things'', or that those sites are selling subscriptions etc. etc..

There are multiple sources (including the son of the director of the UAA) who have been very accurate with information thus far that continue to be accurate.

Buddy was at the fricking airport in Ocala when Stricklin got off the flight because the same source that said they were in NH (when no one knew) told him they were flying there.

There is a lot of great journalism going on -- and having read so many different takes and sources, I can confidently say that Chip's coming to Gainesville unless something catastrophic happens.

99% sure. Will never say 100% because I don't believe in absolutes, but some insiders have been straight minted.

Embarrassment to whom? The rantards? Tenner and UGA fans? OK, so Kelly says thanks but no thanks, and we look a little silly for getting so excited. This means what really?

Newsflash - aside from some short lived Schadenfreude from our rivals, the vast majority of everyone could actually give a shite about who do or don't hire. It''s a coaching hire for college football, not nuclear arms negotiations with the Soviets.

All that really matters is that whoever hires wins. Stricklin is going to have a rough time if we don't get Kelly because of expectations, but that was out of his control. Managing a fan base is pretty much playing chess with pigeons anyway.

So to those of you that claimed it was a "done deal," please do not say shite about the coaching search moving forward.
