247's TG did a study, and UF has gained 0 yds or lost yds like 73% of 1st downs.

That cannot be accurate.
Please say you made a typo.

And if we flame out with that, then we'll see.

Next year, UF is the CLEAR favorite in the SEC.

If UF stumbles the rest of the year, and bombs next year, Muschamp is gone.

I'm pretty sure it is. I think the stat was that we ran it 73% of times. Muschamp said we were getting like 4ish yards/carry vs 2.5 pass/attempt on first down against LSU.

Which is precisely why I haven't bitched about him. Barring a historic collapse, going to a different job, or something crazy happening off the field, he is here through next season.

I'm all up for looking at what we are not doing well on the field and discussing what might make it better up to a certain point, but I feel like all the talk of hot seats and so on is ridiculous. At best, it does nothing at all. At worst, it sews dissension among fans and creates a negative media environment that could possibly bleed back over into the team.

Muschamp is here through 2014. Until next season is going into the second half really, I just don't really get much out of venting my spleen on the guy. The truth is that none of us really know what the hell is going on from day to day. Gatordmb seems to me the most keyed in out of posters here, and even he can't say with 100% certainty who if anyone on the coaching staff should be blamed. Playing this game of finding contextual clues in order to make assumptions that are then treated as iron clad fact just seems ridiculous to me.

I know we are banged up, our o-line is pretty bad, and that losing Easley hurt even more than I expected. I have no idea what they are trying to do about it, but I am pretty sure the coaching staff gets all of this. I hope they get it fixed because its definitely more fun watching us kick arse. I also know that there is 0 that I can do about any of it.

I hate the all types of weather statement. Florida fans and alumni are all together. Coaches aren't apart of that frat. Especially not asst. Coaches. They represent us, but if they don't do their job, then they are only a negative for our community. I want cords to bring out the best of our players who represent us as a whole on the national stage both on and off the field. Cords are people generally here for three years as a stepping stone. Unless they do something great, they are just another cord. Head coach is a little different. Stoops, strong, mullen, etc will go down as gator greats as cords, but most wont

I teach between 100 and 200 students a semester. What they do after graduation matters more than anything anyone on the football team does in relation to Florida. That keeps the season in perspective for me.

Some of those students occasionally play on these teams. I would love for you to tell any one of them that coaches aren't part of the fraternity. We know that coaches tend to be rolling stones, but for that season, to anyone that actually matters, they are very much a part of the University of Florida.

Which brings me to my final point -- is there a time for a fan base to discuss the future of their coach? Sure, but a lot of the mud-slinging going on by some of the true believers at the moment is absolutely silly, particularly given that absolutely not one iota of it will make any difference to who is coaching this team next year. As I said before, at best, it does nothing. At worst, players actually see this stuff and it gets in their head. Either way, it seems a bit Quixotic.

So back to "In all kinds of weahter..." Does that mean propping up bad coaches season after season? No. But to me at least, it does mean not saying you support the team while at the same time excoriating the coaching staff when there is no possible positive purpose it serves. And I don't doubt that you all do truly support the team; that isn't what I am saying either. I just wish people would pump the brakes a little and ask what good it serves to be so negative at this point in time. It also isn't because losing doesn't bother me; I'm bitter over Miami. Hell, I'm still bitter over Georgia last year. But I realize I have zero control over it. At the moment, I feel the best I can offer is staying positive when I encounter fans, players, and staff, and letting the season play out before making any final decisions about what exactly went wrong.
