Huskers tight ends coach Sean Beckton on Tuesday said Florida would not allow Frost to bring all of his staff to Gainesville, which is one of the primary reasons Frost declined the opportunity many expected him to take.

Not that it matters, I feel like we got our guy, but this was interesting.

I mean, Mullen brought his entire staff so I'm not entirely certain that it wasn't the case.

Personally, I don't know if Frost really considered any place other than Nebraska. The call home was way too strong. While it would have been interesting, because I definitely think he can run a program if he can beat Auburn with UCF (even if they're uninspired) I'm not sure if Florida could accept the optics of another "up and comer".

It was more about the experience of the staff. Easier for admin to trust Mullen's decision given his staff had significant SEC experience.

Definitely could be. I just don't think that was the only hang up. I think Frost wanted Nebraska waaahaaay more than Florida -- to his own detriment.
