Opposing teams never want to hear it, but you'll notice that we were the only championship basketball team not to be investigated. And while we're not paying, Georgia is clearly just paying the most.

Honestly, would you be surprised tomorrow if Georgia was being investigated? I don't think anyone would. It's the same thing with Arik: We wouldn't take him due to grades (this is widely known) and they would, somehow the rules get bent and nO oNe KnOwS wHaT hApPeNed.

It is what it is, they can pay them boys all they want to get themselves stomped in Jax every year roll damn Gator.

I get your point, and love the enthusiasm, but Kirby still has winning record against us and Mullen so the last bit doesn’t really hold up at this current time.

I’m just confused how they are still bringing top tier talent into that program and don’t do anything with it and recruits are still going there. I think Kirby really is just a used car salesman with a lot of charm - I think chalking it up solely to money is just a really easy way out. Sure, most of it probably is that. But the real money is going to the NFL as a top 10 pick, not wasting your talent and dropping to the 4th round for a 100K.

If Kirby was at Mississippi State and Mullen was at Georgia what do you think the record would look like? Even here, Kirby had quite the head start while Mullen was cleaning up an absolute mess left behind McElwain.

How else would you explain it? Why do you think guys would want to play for Kirby instead of Saban?

Why do you think one of the most talented Tight Ends in the country would choose to play for Georgia where the top TE prospect last year had ten catches total?

Remember, they had the second most talented class of all time.

Maybe he gives incredible blowjobs, because outside of that I have no idea how he sells prospects that don't even fit his scheme to come play for him. Imagine having the most talented team on paper in 2020 and failing to even make the SEC Championship in the East.

Porter would say development, but that falls short at Quarterback especially, and he still landed a top QB (again, after the Justin Fields hilarity). Definitely at TE, even if Arik wants to move to WR, he's never played WR at this level. I guess it's just up to your interpretation.

Kirby has a winning record against us and Mullen — while he’s been at Florida — I respect your opinion over a lot of people’s but I don’t dwell in hypotheticals and what if’s. Kirby is 3-2 against us and 2-1 against Mullen. I look into facts and nothing else, so end of story there. Until we are regularly beating UGA your point of us stomping them in Jacksonville every year doesn’t hold much merit. That’s all I’m saying.

What I’m more worried about is the fact that despite underachieving — Kirby’s players are still getting drafted. Their TE had like 7 catches last year and went in the 3rd round. NFL teams like something about his players and that’s what bothers me the most. Bc he will get recruits over us and at the end of the day, that’s what will keep us from winning a championship.

Yes, if you look at it in a vacuum.

If you look at it as in: Mullen needed to reload the entire team while Kirby was firing all cylinders, sure.

If you look at it last year when Mullen stomped Kirby's face in with considerably less talent (even factoring in injuries), then it's kind of a different story.

In the infamous words of tOl' Ball Coach:

“Why is it that during recruiting season they sign all the great players, but when it comes time to play the game we have all the great players? I don’t understand that. What happens to them?”

The recipe:

Keep winning.

I’m all for this, I hope Mullen beats Kirby next year or your point kind of goes out the window, vacuum or not.

Yep, that's the recipe. Just keep finding ways to win.

It's...kind of cool to get back to the Power Spread, and I look forward to it with the right players in the right spots again. The Portal has helped us a lot in regards to recruiting, and hopefully this is the year that we can get back to winning the East regularly.

Some folks forget that Mullen just completed his THIRD season at UF and dare might I add was very successful in that time frame. Sure the loss to the kittens was not a pretty sight...but we had already clinched the east and players acted like it. Oklahoma is a joke when you look at who didnt play in that game....with a full roster we could have curb stomped their arse....but too many players had the NFL first and foremost in their minds....very selfish.

A lot players soon learned they were nothing but possible free agents and a f/a is expendable to a team that didnt use a higher round drafting them. The NFL is about a job and making money..period.

Nah, LSU loss was inexcusable. Same with the showing against Oklahoma.

It's your job as a coach to get your boys up and ready to go, and I understand it from his perspective but no one wants to hear those excuses, myself included.

Mullen has to find out a way in the future, because we took a very good team and had some pretty soft results. Same way we should have never lost that A&M game. Alabama is the only game that we should have lost, and to his credit he really was just a fumbled interception away.
