25 days left until we get some Gator football. Time to embrace the future and let last year make this team hungry for some success. From day 25 to kickoff I will be posting pics of some of the greatest Gators to ever wear the jersey number as well as current Gators on the roster for that particular day in the countdown.
To start the countdown off at #25.....
Elijah Williams RB/CB
Brandon James KR/WR
Lee McGriff WR
Stacy Simmons WR
Chuck Hatch DB

Please add Roger Sibbald #25,for his hit on Andre Smith on 4th down to stop UG at the one yard line on 4th and goal in 1984, setting up the next series which included the bomb from Bell to Natiel to seal the win 27-0.

It's sad to say I only know Brandon James.

I couldn't find one either, just watched the you tube video. I just remember that play and what it meant at that exact time and place.

Feel free to post the link to the video. Always nice to watch some great Gator plays of the past.

Where are there lists of Gators who have worn each number throughout history?

I am sure Gatorzone has one. I gotta very detailed history book about UF football and I have been going off of that.

Good list, #24 not a very historically famous number at UF. Google the all - time UF football roster and you will get a list but not complete.

# 22 HAS to have John L. Williams 1982-85, the best complete RB/FB we have ever had at UF. A first round pick who played in obscure Seatlle for many years. John L. was from Palatka and unselfish...blocking for Neal Anderson & Lorenzo Hampton (booth first round picks). The best set of hands in the backfield...even one handed.
# 23 Allen Trammell from Eufala, Al. 1964-66, a really talented RB/DB who intercepted a girls school pass and went to the bank with it...30-23 is final score I believe....all of this is from memory btw.
