Since we know Coach White will retire one day, who will be the next Gator Basketball coach in 2031, give or take a year or 2?

I know this is all in fun, but I will say that if White were to leave for whatever reason, always have to keep an eye on Matt McCall. UF grad groomed by Billy Donovan. Already got promoted from Chattanooga to UMass, but has a major rebuild on his hands.

I think McCall would have been hired if Donovan hung around for a few more years.

For sure. He's only 36, maybe he'll get the chance one day.
I think he's going to do great things at UMass. Had some crazy roster issues to deal with this year, but they are expecting big things next season. Wouldn't surprise me if McCall is at another big program within the next few years.

If it wasn't obvious, this tread was just a poke at some Gator fans that believe the Gators are the New England Patriots in football, the old Boston Celtics in basketball and the New York Yankees in baseball and we are not.
We are a program that is one of the best in the country but we have been going thru changes in every major sport in the last few years and we have to trust in the administration to manage this change.
Baseball seems to have stabilized because we got the right coach and gave him time to show results, basketball is heading in the right direction, if we give the coach the time to get it done, as well as football.
We all want to win but constant negativity from Gator fans and wanting to fire a coach after every season doesn't help the situation.
Right now, I think our coaches are as good as any other school in the big 3 men's sports. I know our other sports are better than most, so let's support them and give them a chance to turn us into the 3 headed monster that we want to be while dominating the minor sports. Go Gators!

Well said, at least you guys aren't in UGA situation when it comes to basketball. It could be so much worse for you guys.
