Any one have an opinion on this new fair catch kick rule?
A new fair catch kick is being introduced to college football this season as well. After designated fair catches, the receiving team can elect to attempt an uncontested field goal from the spot of the catch.

sounds like something that would be rare.

Sounds like a way to set up a long uncontested field goal at the end of the half.
