Exactly, he's played 2 teams with a pulse, has less than 50% completions with 1 td and has only 2 against a team they should steamroll. You bag Franks for this..........
Auburn and Miami are both potentially 10 win teams, both had a chance to win their conferences.
Kentucky won't even win the division, in fact, they'd be lucky to finish second in our division.
This is such a weird place for me to be in because all off-season people called me a pumper, and now that I'm saying "okay pump the brakes" I'm being called TJ JR.
We played two bad teams, Burrow played two good teams. They're not even similar relatively, let alone in analogy.

And we can even make this worse for us.
Miami was a neutral site.
LSU played on the road at Auburn.
We got both FBS teams at home.
Not only has Burrow faced steeper competition, he fought them at their stadium and at a neutral site.
Burrow is a better Quarterback than Franks, demonstrably. It's not even a debate. The stats favor Franks because he's faced outrageously bad defenses (and still completed less than 50% of his passes).
We are not a good team, guys, and I hate to be negative, but this is not going to end well for us.

Yeah, won 4 games last year. Noone is denying this.
quote:Exactly, Who's under Center isnt going to change anything so why bother bitching about it? I really dgaf who it is, Franks or Trask, I have no delusions of this team competing this season.

Im seeing a 6-7 win season regardless who is taking the snaps

You guys really don't think Will Grier wouldn't do something different than Franks, or that the offense would look the same with even Kentucky's Quarterback?
We lose by one possession at home (+strip sack of guess who) and you guys are acting like it's a 50 point blowout.
A serviceable Quarterback at Florida would almost guarantee a 9 win season.
A guy throwing >50% at Florida will almost guarantee 6 win season.
shite, Del Rio showed us exactly what it's like to have two different guys at Quarterback. They had 27 points last year, and holy shite, we still won.

Solid argument, please tell me how Miami and Auburn are like Kentucky and Colorado fricking State.
Posted on 9/17/18 at 9:40 pm to StrawsDrawnAtRandom
They arent, Kentucky is undefeated..... lol
Miami has lost 4 straight there bud going back to last season. Should never have sniffed the dumbass pre-season rankings. Which shouldnt even exist due to shite like this.
Auburn has played Wash who has themselves played noone. So at this point we really cant make a case for any team. We can come back in 4 weeks and re-visit this but talking right now, none of these teams have a sample size to say they are really deserving of a top 10 ranking.

You can bring Danny back, this is not a 9 win team. You must be too caught up watching Franks to miss how poor our Oline is on pass pro and run blocking, how many tackles our defense misses and how our Dline gets zero push and gets blown off the ball by teams they should be mauling.
Like you said, NOT a good team. 1 man wouldnt change that
Games are won/lost in the trenches.. If you look closely youll see we're getting our asses whipped

Straws doesn't grasp how bad the team is. Bad in trenches. Can't tackle. Soft.
This isn't on Frank's. Trask isn't a world beater or he would be under center

They've given up 5 hurries in over 50 passes, meaning they're allowing one hurry out of every ten passes. That's not terrible pass protection.
In fact, with as much time as Franks has had in the pocket, it's insane that he's still throwing worse than 50%.
The entire team looked improved last week, Franks threw a ridiculously bad interception in the first half.
81 yards in three and a half Quarters, come on, man.
I'm caught up on it because you don't have: images, video, statistics or any tangible metric by which to say he's not impacting how the offense produces.
I have images, I've posted them before: Seven different passes in one game that could have been intercepted.
Five hurries in over 50 passes.
It's unbelievable that you seriously don't think that a different Quarterback would have the same result, it's okay to say Franks played badly, it's not okay to pretend like he's not hurting the offense by being so inconsistent.
He can be incredibly successful if he learns to take the short passes, otherwise we're just going to watch him continue to throw into coverage.
Again, I gotta check out for some time because the delusion on this board is way too high for me. Just going to leave you with a question:
If you had to bet, do you think Franks will do well on the road against UT after his performances against the worst defense in the FBS and Kentucky?

How many times did they have KY's QB dead to rights and let him slip a tackle for a big play? Our OL is soft as baby shite as well

No. But Trask won't either. Back up QB is a back up QB. If he can't start in high school...dude isn't starting at UF and being a hero.
If we pull Frank's. Build the future with Jones. Trask is a waste of time.

Defense gave up 21, offense couldn't get 21. That's ridiculous.
Against Colorado State the defense tightened up, special teams played much better, OL HAD ONE SINGLE HURRY THE ENTIRE GAME, RBs rushed for a ton of yards.
The only position that didn't improve from the Kentucky game was the QB. Period.

Jones couldn't beat out Trask, Trask is a better QB than Franks but a worse leader.
I'm not saying he'll be great, but I think he definitely reads the field better as evidenced by multiple scrimmages.
We don't need a hero Quarterback, we need a guy who won't throw it into coverage when all he needs to do is complete a swing pass.

Thought i said it already. IDGAF.
This is a TOTAL rebuild season for me. 8 years of mediocrity wont be erased in one season. Im still supporting the team but with no illusions that we will beat any team with a pulse. 4 wins last year, couldve been 2. Anyone who thinks if we plug in a different QB on this roster that this team will win 9 plus games... well, please send me some of what youre smoking.

How many tackles for loss / sacks? It shouldve been a mugging

Most of that "TON" came on 2 plays. You take away Pierce's run up the middle where he had to squeek by a small hole and the JS run where the defense called a ill timed blitz and we avg less than 5 a carry vs a team our guys shouldve plowed over.

They had five fricking sacks. They had 9 tackles for loss.
They had two defensive touchdowns (as many as Franks).
You can't be serious, man.
The entire team came back with a vengeance, Franks...barely made a hundred yards through the air. It's pitiful.
