Kimber was bad!!!

His first penalty resulted in a SC TD (the pass was thrown behind receiver. Penalty = first down when it should have been 4th and long). Beaten on a few plays and low effort on others.

FIFY

Dont know why fans do this, like vs KY when the penalty gave them the ball back and they broke off a 80 yard run the guy on SPT got blamed. He didnt miss a single tackle on that td run. The Defense did

Overall Defense was bad yesterday until late when they had to make a play to win it.

Players were in position to make plays they just didn't!!!
I thought Armstrong had his guy in position. A Ayer has to make a play!!

USCe first series 3 and 11 ball thrown behind the receiver no way he catches the ball and the defense is pulling and tugging on the receiver the whole time then they go right down the field and score just fricking disappointing.

Also there were several balls the corner or DB just didn't fight hard enough to break up the play
Also luckily Mitchell was back on the final throw from Rattler because Marshall had over run the play and the ball was under thrown if Mitchell had not been there for sure the receiver had a great chance to catch that ball.

DL is very disappointing.

Banks needs to be a rotational player, not starting. Put McClellan/Collins out there with Jackson.

Go to a 4 man DL and let Searcy and Prince get it
We're banged up in the secondary and at LB

I agree but also a player also has to make a play.

If the O-line could get back to full strength that would help as well. I know USCe had. Week off to prepare but still Rattler has been sacked something like 26 time in there first 5 games to only sack him I think twice and of course the bad snap he had to jump on. But princely is way over rated!!!

I hate to be that guy, but this the mega melt thread. We were 2 great plays from being in a lot different mood today.

The 2 yard throw that Boardingham stretched into a first down was huge. Without it we probably would have lost. The Pearsall catch on 4th down, same story.

On a positive note, we made the plays when we needed to, but we still have a lot of issues. This team is young and will improve, help on the way in 2024. go Gators, beat the mutts!

Same could have been said about Auburn vs UGA and Bama in 2013.

You're not wrong, however that's just football.

Or it could have been the case for us in 2020 vs LSU in the fog/shoe game.

If Marco didn't throw that shoe and we got the ball back and Evan hit a long FG, our whole trajectory would have been different, even with a loss to Bama the following week.

What was lucky about the play to Arlis, didn’t everyone say we had the better players?
Like Shane said, he was the only option under the pressure and coverage, he was 1 on 1 out in the open field and made a move on his guy for the play.
It happens every week, so why when we do it ppl call it “luck”

I’ve never seen a fanbase so crucial over a play that worked in a win.
Not one LSU fan saw them run a fake fg for a td against us during the Miles era and thought they were so lucky to get that

We won. Enjoy it. On to UGA

That fact that luck is rarely on our side should be enough to know why some of us were critical of the play call.

If he had gotten tackled with 10 yds to go, we’d all be bitching about it.

ETA: just watched that play again, it wasn’t even designed to go to Arlie… I think. Graham looks left, pressure comes from the left, he’s forced right. Only guys on that side was Wilson and Pearsall.

Arlis had motioned. Wilson ran across the middle, Pearsall appeared to do a stick-n-go, and Arlis was the only one “open”. Etienne had a nice block that helped get the first when he ran a delayed route to the flat area.

That was a thing of beauty. Especially since the staff apparently wants him to improve his blocking before solidifying his role as #1 rb.

Play was going to the left. Deep with deep cross and shallow cross underneath from WRs on the right side of the formation
Arlis was n the flat to the right as a release

If Mertz gets sacked or Arlis gets stopped means the defense made a play. It happens

Like Shane said, they have millionaire coaches and players on scholarships too

Well… it was fun for like the first 10 minutes.

Not a melt, just disappointed. I knew it was still a long shot to win today, but we’ve essentially given them 2 TDs.

Play calling is suspect at times - see 4th down call, the 10yd cushions we give on 3rd and mediums kills us every time, and our secondary is always out of position it feels like.

Giving up 3TDs in under 5 minutes is pathetic. Let’s try to execute the best we can to get out of this one healthy and unembarrassed. At least cover.

It’s still Go Gators and Frick UGA.

If they don’t beat Arkansas…

Arkansas isn’t as bad as their record, but they aren’t good. They’ve had a weird obsession with this game all year. They have it circled as a win and have been talking about it all year long on sports talk radio. Co-workers and friends already texting me and flapping gums since they’re on a bye week and have nothing better to do.

It’s bad enough I have to hear them run their mouth about basketball and baseball, don’t make me suffer another 2016 where we have a better football team and don’t get it done.

When the TE is outrunning DB’s there’s a problem.

And I’m almost convinced we need a “Sticks Coach”. Because it never seems like Billy or Mertz know where the damn 1st down marker is.

Hopefully we don't blow that game. 5-7 likely if we do. Napier still crappy with game mgmt. An OC is needed for next season for sure.
