Do you actually think Taggart is a better hire than Mullen? Just curious.

Let’s reserve judgement until at least the spring game.

Yep. We'll see it. He could've been our HC. Spare me the dissertation on why you think Mullen is "better".

Okay Dan ''Not leaving MSU'' Mullen.

And I don't need a dissertation, I just have to say: Oh he's won a bowl.

Look at that, 1 - 0 Mullen.

Bowl games don't mean shite. Get that through your head. If your 6-6 you can go to a bowl game.

They actually do mean a lot because they're pitting teams that normally wouldn't play each other against each other.

Should we use his overall record? He wins there, too.

Wins? He's done it again.

Winning seasons? I must say, Dan's going strong.

MSU averaged 3 wins a year, now they average 8 -- and in the hardest time ever to be at MSU since there were 3 championship teams from the same division, bruv.

3. Same division, and Dan somehow managed to get 8 wins a season there. That's impressive.

Funny how it took Taggart years to break .500 when Strong,Kiffin and Frost all made it look pretty easy

Not scared of Taggart. We all pretty much agreed if we hired him it would be to build the recruiting back up to hire another HC 3 years later.

The only reason his record is the way it is is because he had fix 2 programs in shambles. Each year he improved. He would've been fine at usf this year. Mullen was up and down like the stock market. A few good years sandwiched in between mediocre seasons.

So you’re comparing USF (AAC) to MSU (SEC)?

Taggart was at Oregon bringing in a TOP 5 class. What's dans excuse? He's a decent coach but a lazy recruiter. That's why he never had great classes. That and he shite the bed vs anyone with a pulse. He's Mac without yellow team who runs an outdated scheme.

Look, everybody has at least shite the bed against a lower tier team. Hell, it even happened to Saban. I’m willing to reserve judgement until the spring game.

He's done it multiple times. It's why he needs an all star staff.

Oregon is a much better school to be at than MSU. There's actually a history that's fairly recent that Taggart can sell.

What the frick do you sell in Mississippi?

Blaming Mullen for not having a top 5 class is like blaming anyone for not bringing a top 5 class to Vanderbilt.

However, MSU is averaging 8 wins a year now after averaging 3. So maybe he's actually a decent coach and doesn't just rely on talent?

Like LSU? Didn't they mollywhop LSU? Blew out Texas A&M.

They have four losses:

All three came from teams who could have easily been ranked #1. (Georgia, Alabama were, Auburn beat both of those teams).

They had back to back road games at Auburn and Georgia, man. BACK TO BACk. Then they have to play Alabama?

Taggart would get 60 hung on his charmin soft defense by them both if he played Auburn and Alabama back to back.

He's beaten no one to get those 8 wins. Which is a fair criticism of Taggart as well. The problem is his records have gone:

5-7
9-4
7-6
8-5
7-6
10-3
9-4
6-7
8-4

Great coaches don't fluctuate that much. They stay on the same trajectory. Taggarts teams have improved each year when he was there and after he left. What does that tell you? He can recruit and coach. Lol at you making excuses for Mullens moral victories. You're delusion has no end.

Mullen has been a hot commodity for a while now, and many schools have pursued him. He's turned down a lot of schools because MSU was paying him quite a bit of money.

Also, you're saying great coaches don't fluctuate that much -- this is just stupid. Meyer got destroyed in the CFP, lost terribly to an Iowa team this year.

We lost to Ole Miss in our second run for a National Championship.

He plays in the hardest division in the hardest conference with championship level teams. He played 3 Top 2 teams this year and the only team that he lost to that was on par with him was Ole Miss -- and that's because Fitzgerald got injured in the fist quarter of the Egg Bowl.

So basically: He beat every team he should beat and only lost to CFP teams outside of Ole Miss because his QB got injured first quarter.

Meanwhile, Taggart got beaten by ASU (7 - 5) with their #1 Quarterback.
