He values recruiting over on-field results.

MSU got beaten by 3 top 5 teams and Ole Miss after losing their QB in the first quarter.

Taggart got beaten by a (7 - 5) ASU team, blown out by UCLA (6 - 6) and absolutely crushed by every team worth their salt -- but it's okay, he lost his quarterback, man.

I mean what can you do if you lose your quarterback?

I value both. Taggarts shown he can improve teams and revruit. Mullen has NOT. Taggart jumps every few years because hes a hot commodity. Mullen jumped when he was 4th or 5th in line. I can't wait to hear you guys bash Macs recruiting when we struggle after years of touting his "prowess" at finding "gems". You guys flip flop more than a shark about to be raped by Mac

You mean like changing a 3 win average team into an 8 win average team?

frick you're thick, TJ. You were right about McElwain, but incorrect about so many other things.

Wrong about USC.

Wrong about UGA.

Wrong about FSU.

Wrong about Michigan.

Wrong about Taggart.

Not too long ago I posted the ''TJ kiss of death''.

Because whatever program you mention seems to immediately turn to shite.

It wasn't too long ago you were hyping up Kirby until he absolutely shite his pants at Auburn.

You're so quick to remember people for being wrong about one thing when you're consistently wrong about everything outside of the title of the subject.

Sooooooo any news on the coaching front? Preferably about the Florida Gators. I don't really give a shite about the girls school.

That's because hes a hot commodity. Why did Mullen stay at state 9 years? He was scared. Meyer stayed at Utah and bowling green a whopping 5 years total. Taggart may suck but Mullen has red flags everywhere. Let's all hope they were because of MSU. I really want to be wrong and I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong. We've been through hell these last 8 years

He was like in the top ten of best paid coaches, man. At MSU. It also looks like he's been waiting for the Florida job, because most felt like it was one of the only jobs he would leave for.

Saying he's scared is kind of silly. He was in the best division of the best conference of the last decade. If he were scared he'd go to coach at, let's say, South Florida.

Mullen was paid well at MSST, and maybe he waited for the right fit instead of chasing Other jobs elsewhere.

he just signed an extension at 5.5m a year at state before we hired him. gave him a token 500k raise. definitely been waiting for the right job. i think the only other job he seriously pursued was miami. richt beat him out on that one.

Think about it, your AD goes to a school you used to OC for with pretty good success and the current HC is not his guy and is not doing so well... who knows, maybe Scott told Dan if this guy fks up, ill be giving you a call.

Scared of what? He already faced Saban, Miles/O, Gus every year. NC winning schools

I would like to say that I never wanted Taggart, so I have been completely consistent regarding that. I think he's way too unproven and untried. He's kind of like Kiffin but not nearly as fun.

Taggart is a good coach, but it remains to be seen whether he can be an elite level coach. He's never been around a championship level program, that type of experience is invaluable when you're sitting in the big chair.

He also had some real struggles at USF and entered his 3rd year on the hot seat. His offense was absolutely atrocious the first two seasons and he had to be begged to change it up to fit the personnel. Eventually he evolved, so that is a positive. His recruiting was also not as strong as everyone expected, there were certainly many surprised he was suddenly getting out-recruited by Temple and Memphis.

Taggart is far from a sure thing. FSU is coming off a championship coach, they can afford to take the risk. Don't think we were in the right spot for that kind of hire.

To be honest, outside of Seider I don't have an issue with any coach from the prior staff moving on. Rumph hasn't been a particularly great recruiter the last few cycles and not sure he is a good enough position coach to make up for it. I like that Mullen can bring in some new guys.

I think we all agree that Seider was the only one worth holding in to. Davis is so so on the OL
