Had more completions, the same amount of touchdowns and more yards than Franks.

37 minutes vs. 23.

He looked better than Franks today, no doubt!

Trask still hasn’t played a meaningful snap yet this season .

Trask should start the rest of this season so he can be evaluated as Emory Jones' backup next season.

Not getting the Jalon over Emory hype. This whole the next guy is better idea isn't always true. Emory coming and playing in the biggest game this year shows Mullen is growing on the kid. He is quick, has a good arm, will see what he's got next year. Not going to ride on the Jalon over Emory train before the kid even steps foot on campus. Not like he is a five star, sure fire gem...

Jalon is the real deal, but I think it's much better to start Trask at this point and here's why:

1. He's not a terrible Quarterback, probably pretty average, maybe a smidge above average if Mullen actually puts the attention he was giving to Feleipe to him for all of this time.

2. While Jalon is probably the future award winner, if we don't give Trask at least a shot to play, he will transfer and I think it's obvious Franks is done at Florida. Fans can't stand him anymore.

3. If Trask and Franks transfer, next year looks very, very bleak because we will have two dual-threat Quarterbacks in a system designed for Quarterback runs and they won't be able to because if one goes down, we're down to one Quarterback.

If it were my decision, I would start Trask hereon out but have sort of a Tebow/Leak type of thing going. Every third and seventh drive of the game, let Emory come in and go with the team, if he starts to get the hot hand let him, perhaps, take another drive.

We need to balance next year to prepare for 2020, because when that comes it could easily be:

RS SR Trask (Probable Graduate Transfer)
RS SO E. Jones
SO J. JONES
FR Richardson.

That's a great QB stable, and if Trask somehow becomes very successful I don't think Emory would have a problem with 2 years as a starter, three years with significant playing time.
