I've been a pay member on Gator Country since 2013, the information there has never been better. They're right though it's usually on the rant within the hour. I'm there mostly because it's just a lot of really good people that like talking football most of the time.

Agreed. I personally think it is worth it. I’ve been on there since 2004 and have never left. There’s been some great stuff the last several months.

It's radio silence as far as the coaching search, for the last week or so. That's how Stricklin wants it I suppose. Lots of talk about Randy not being a great choice for Interm, teams a mess yada yada, but if we hire the right coach, most of this stuff goes away. This team seems checked out and ready for this season to end, and Depending on the type of coach that comes in we may have a mass exodus of transfers, it seems Mac wasn't much of a disciplinarian when he needed to be, these guys may not respond well to tough coaching, and discipline. That's what this program needs though, too much aw shucks going on, we need to clean house. Outside of maybe Sieder, imo.

I'm a big fan of Nick's writing and Andrew seems like he really likes covering recruiting, he's usually on the ball with responding to questions. I just really like the quality of poster over there too lots of x and o talk, and not just blind negativity most of the time, there is real debate and not just pissing contests.

I don't think Shannon was left with much to work with. Down 22 scholarship players, 19 for the last game, I'm not sure what he was supposed to do?

Our best QB (who isn't injured) was sitting on the bench for almost the entire season because McElwain seemed pissed off at him for whatever reason, so now he has to come into a bad situation -- both of our impact players suspended along with their replacements out of the next game.

Damn, this isn't looking good.

Good news is 6 suspended players more than likely come back next year, Corral seems like he's going to give the new coach a chance, we probably have a few decommits at the skill positions but getting the right coach is more important than this class. This state can replenish our roster in just a couple of recruiting classes if we recruit well. If Stricklin gets it wrong yes things could go very very bad. I think Stricklin is going to nail it though he is a very sharp guy.

Corral's always been pretty solid for us -- I think he saw something he liked. I want to have faith in Stricklin, but I just feel like the last two hires have been lackluster.

I think Stricklin has to know that this is the hire of his tenure that will define it. He's done well in other sports, but this is the one we're all dying over.

It has more to do with what's going on behind the scenes, and less about actual gameday coaching. Things like playing favorites with kids from South Florida creating division in the locker room, and Mac relying too heavily on Shannon in recruiting/coach hires creating a lot of friction between the remaining coaches. It certainly hasn't painted a pretty picture.

No. Unless you have tons of extra money and it doesn't bother you at all.

Personally. I was and stopped.

If you do get one, do 24/7. Gatorcountry reporting is rather bad. 24/7 has really good writers there.

Still. Nothing they report you won't find out here later in he day on SECrant anyways if it's important.

Zaire is not the best QB. Franks has had a terrible coaching staff.

Blake is good. Goldkamp and Luke suck. Nothing that they have is better than what comes out on SECcountry. 247 is great for the composite but that is free.

Franks was not ready this year, man. Zaire clearly has better vision, and I'm not sure the coaches could do much without it.

Playcalling didn't help, but both Del Rio and Zaire looked much more productive with what little we've seen of them.

That being said: Franks could have been helped a lot if we had let him run it a few times.

Actually GC is generally very homer sunshine. it's recently changed, but only because it took the sky falling. Same with Muschamp. You get shut out and put down quick if you claim something negative(even if it's true, and obvious). 24/7 at least people became more real, quicker.

Sounds like your already getting your excuse ready for next if Franks does good. It will be that he just wasn’t ready yet.

Franks is 10 times more likely to be a starting QB in the NFL then Del Rio and Zaire. Del Rio and Zaire sucks that’s why they came here trying to get some playing time . They are not very talented . Zaire’s offense scored 9 points on a team that gave up a average of 43 points a game in conference play .

What facts do you have to show that Zaire and Del Rio were more productive then Franks this year.

Whatever happened to Bob Redman. He was the only guy that was legit worth giving money to.

He currently has a thread about the coaching search. Can’t read it though.

Neither can I...

I got some friends who are insiders there though. I’ll ask if there is any good info.
