It was reported that Franks got heated about an exchange with Carter on a sack were he wrapped Franks up. Franks did not like it. Franks lowered his shoulder on S Davis shortly after that. Defense did not like that because of the red shirt.

shite should get heated during practice. Not out and out fights but dudes should need to get separated. Every good team I have been on competition leads to high emotions.

All the reports from practices have been positive from Franks. Altgator was at practice in person and said Franks is our guy (QB1). I trust that over most of the UF reporters.

Franks did exactly what UF needed the last 3 1/2 games. Hopefully he builds on that success. Sounds like that is what is going on.

"Later in the 11-on-11 period, Franks lined up with the second-team offensive line and one of the first snaps resulted in defensive end Zachary Carter beating freshman guard Ethan White inside for an easy sack on Franks.

Carter simply wrapped up Franks in a light bear hug, keeping him on his feet like he was supposed to in thud tempo. Franks didn't take too kindly to the contact, shoving Carter away.

The redshirt sophomore defensive end playfully tapped Franks back on the helmet, which only further infuriated Franks. Franks took the football and beamed it at Carter's helmet, causing a handful of defensive linemen to charge in and defend Carter as the offensive line went to defend Franks. The group was quickly split up by coaches.

play or two later, Franks took a run off the left side and got somewhat free on the sideline in front of the fans. As safety Shawn Davis stepped in to make the stop, Franks aggressively lowered his shoulder and plowed through him. Coaches quickly blew the whistle to stop things and send it into the next practice period.

The defense seemed to take umbrage at the initiation of contact from Franks repeatedly, which puts them at a disadvantage because they're not supposed to hit the quarterbacks."

I have no idea why the Florida fan base defends every action this guy has.

He's no where near good enough to warrant his piss poor attitude.

Taking shots at defenders who can't hit you is pretty bitchmade, man. Tebow used to hit guys in practice and other guys would hit him back.

How many times did you hear about them being separated because Tebow started some shite?

Competition is great, whining like a baby because you got hug-sacked and didn't even go to the ground, then smashing a defender who probably isn't even trying to tackle you is just dumb.

All the time with Tebow. He was not a bitch about it and wanted to get hit. Defensive guys caught shite from Meyer though.

We did not hear about it because Meyer kept a lid on shite. UF beat writers only put out what Meyer wanted at the time.

Yeah, getting mad about being hugged is probably falls into the "bitch" category.

Not gonna really comment on Franks getting in fights in practice because that happens with every team, but he needs to GTFO social media.

Fights happen, but usually not from QBs trying to wrassle with defensive players when they can't touch him and he knows that they'll get chewed out if they do. If you have the red jersey on, handle that shite when it comes off. Line 'em up for an Oklahoma drill.

Another reason why he really irks me. He's been told over and over again that he needs to avoid social media and just can't help himself.

Insecurity.

Turns out there’s more to the story.

Apparently the OL and DL had been getting into it talking trash back and forth, so bad that even the position coaches were getting testy with each other on both lines of scrimmage, so tensions were high (part of an intense competitive environment. Good stuff). Carter was a little too physical in the wrap up and Feleipe wasn’t expecting it. OL took as much exception as Feleipe did. Feleipe responded by running and trucking Shawn Davis.

Again, this sounds like a part of an intense and competitive environment. Both sides of the ball playing hard and with effort. I see no problem with it. If it makes us tougher and rougher around the edges this fall, I’m all for it.

Anybody that’s played football at any level knows this kind of stuff stays on the field. Franks is a leader in the locker room and has guys respect. I have no issue with any side of this. In fact, I like it.

That’s cliffnotes per Jason Higdon’s site, by the way.

It never seems like a problem to have a mentally weak Quarterback, but, it's one of the reasons he shite all over himself in the Georgia, Missouri and half of the South Carolina game (First Half passing yards for SCAR: 37 yards). This is not the kind of story you want to hear from a guy who has been a headcase his entire career.

If a light hug and tap on the head can turn him into a little whiny girl, imagine what's going to happen when he misses his next fleaflicker, or he gets sacked for real.

This is not the type of shite you want to hear regarding a fourth year player, third year starter.

Dude came back in the second half after getting booed by UF fans and played great.

If you have never gotten heated with a teammate during practice then you did not play the right sports.

This. He plays better with that chip on his shoulder. It’s probably no coincidence that his last few practices have gotten rave reviews- because he’s been playing with that attitude. His receivers and offensive teammates obviously like it and respect him. I’m excited

From what I hear, the offense and defense was being chippy, that being the case, I cant throw stones if the QB joined in and backed his guys up.

IF this were a defender, you guys talking shite would be all over his d i k

I disagree with your last statement. I don’t appreciate any player taking cheap shots at another, whether he’s on Defense or Offense.

I do agree that an angry Franks plays much better, but fail to see him getting angry at his defensive teammates for something minimal is a good thing.

Having never played QB I’ve never been in his shoes, but if ran a QB keeper and decided to try and run over a defender that knows he can’t go 100% on me, my defensive teammates would’ve beat my arse.

Being me though I wouldn’t try to run someone over knowing I had all the advantages and he had none.

Man, this is great Dallas Baker’s touchdown against Ohio State is one of my earliest (and favorite) childhood memories of Gator football.

Jordan Scarlett by himself had 159 yards on the ground rushing. Rushing.

Feleipe Franks had 161 yards passing vs. SCAR.

If this is the type of thing that you guys are hyping, count me out.

Angry Franks = Good Franks

Angry Franks = Average Franks, which, granted, is better than being terrible but be angry at other teams.

Stop being angry at your own fans and teammates. Take your anger out on someone else, because these are tantrums. These aren't tough guy things. He literally has a special jersey to protect him from receiving hits, I sincerely hope that the defenders let him know next practice but we all know he has paper thin skin.
