You guys should just trade coaches... no buyout clauses needed. It wouldn't set your programs back at all...

He has to be one of the first guys Stricklin calls once Mac is gone . I think all of the fans would be happy with Frost .

What do you think about Kiffin? He seems to be high on a lot of Our list . I think Arkansas will go after him . They are not scared of baggage and he is the best option they have .

I think he was asking Shaft what did he think about Kiffin going back to UT.

ETA: or maybe not after reading that more closely

Not my fault you don't watch football Straws.

Kiffin at UF is a gold mine, risky, but a gold mine.

He recruits as good as anyone, he is brilliant offensively, and he has experience and learned from each stop.

Go look at his team in year one...right there with UCF as the most improved team in the state. He didn't do poorly at Oakland, which had one of the worst rosters in the NFL because of Davis. He recruited lights out for Tenn, and had a good first year. He went to USC, but was on probation limiting what he could do, and no one is winning there yet still, because the Pac-12 is catching up recruiting wise with USC and they aren't quite as powerful as they were 15 years ago.

He has risk, so you negotiate in the contract a way to protect the program from those risk. He will sign that dotted line. I would guarantee Kiffin had a top 3 class his first full cycle here. Guarantee it. I would also guarantee by year two we would have a top 20 offense.

He showed his talents at Bama, changing a pro style run first team to a more spread team and absolutely nailed it. He exploits match ups as well as any offensive coach in the nation. Remember how many times Drake was on a linebacker when he faced us? Remember his brilliant use of Howard knowing CLemson had issues covering TE's with their scheme? Dude knows football.

SO yes. Kiffin would be a very strong hire. Risky, sure, but I'd rather take a risk with insanely high reward over being cowards again and hiring a third Muschamp/Mac.

Tenn losing to UK is worth it. I would rather UK go and get creamed by Bama than see Georgia hang close or possibly beat Bama.

Don't know that I could handle what Bama would do to us in a game again. It's very hard to watch.

Bro, stop. You're trying to talk Kiffin at Florida.

Seriously, you're not a Gator fan. At all. I agreed that TJ should come back, but that you want to give up McElwain for fricking Kiffin is just bonkers.

There are literally a dozen other coaches that we should try before even considering a dude who fricking bolted on an SEC school.

Twice.

Strong, Mullen, Spurrier, Stoops, anyone not named Kiffin you goddamn clown.

Vols&Shaft would be elated if we got Kiffin.

Bolted twice? You mean taking a head coaching job as a coordinator. That isn't bolting, dumb arse. It's called taking a promotion. How college football works.

He bolted for Tenn, which is why you protect yourself as stated in the contract. Simple risk reward. The reward is a brilliant offensive mind who recruits as well as anyone in the nation besides Saban.

The down is he bolts. So you put a very high buyout if he bolts, somewhere around 15-20 million. It sounds absurd, but he would take it because Florida is that level of job he could work.

He isn't the top choice, but he is a top tier choice. shite Tenn is thinking of taking him back, and he bolted from them. That's how much upside the guy has.

But look who I am talking too. You think Mac is amazing, and Smart sucks. As I said. I don't think you watch football.

I would take any of them over Kiffin. And as an addition: It's not about him bolting, people take better jobs all the time -- it's the way he did it.

I wouldn't trust Kiffin to coach for Florida, and any ''fan'' that would is so full of shite that he should just start rooting for FSU.

Kiffin would be much better then the shite show we have now plus he would recruit better . Multiple fans have him in their top 5 list for future head coach to replace Mac.

Why am I not a Gator fan for wanting Kiffin over Mac ? He is a risk but he could be very good here . He has shown that he can call plays around the talent at QB which Mac has yet to do . We have basically ran the same offense for 3 years under Mac with redshirt freshmen , a senior and a sophomore that was a athlete .

Where is he going to leave us for ? USC was his dream job and he went their and got fired. So he will not be there again . Maybe if he does good then could try the NFL but it’s unlikely that he would leave us for another college.

Who made you the judge and jury of UF fan's? WTF? Kiffin is one of the best choices out there. Whether you like him or not, he's one of the smartest guys offensively in the game. He improved Oakland, UT and USC. He reinvented Bama into what you see today. Don't let your hate of him when he was at UT for one year cloud common sense.

Kiffin is much more qualified for this job than Scott Frost. We cannot hire another guy that has not had extensive HC experience at a HIGH level. UCF is not UF. Frost has NO CLUE how to handle a job like this YET. UF is not the fricking place for coaches to learn on the fricking job. NO MORE frickING INEXPERIENCED COACHES. Trying to catch lightning in a bottle. Do you really think Frost knows how to beat Bama more than Kiffin? Do you really think Frost would be as motivated to beat Bama, UGA and UT than Kiffin? Kiffin ruffles feathers like SOS. I like it... Go get him.

Noone on here doubts Kiffin is a great Offensive mind or would be a beast recruiter for UF, ppl just dont trust the guy. I don't. Like I said, IF UF drops Mac for Kiffin, I'll support him whilst being cautiously optimistic that he has matured for the reasons that you stated.

"I'm going to turn Florida in right here in front of you," Kiffin told the crowd. "As Nu'Keese (Richardson) was here on campus, his phone keeps ringing. And so one of our coaches is sitting in the meeting with him and says, 'Who is that?' And he looks at the phone and says, 'Urban Meyer.' Just so you know, you can't call a recruit on another campus. But I love the fact that Urban had to cheat and still didn't get him."[30]

While Kiffin accused Meyer of violating NCAA rules, he incidentally violated a Southeastern Conference rule that prevented coaches from mentioning a recruit by name. Kiffin's accusations against Meyer were mistaken.[30] Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive issued a public reprimand to Kiffin because of the comment.[31] In addition to the SEC's public reprimand, Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley demanded a public apology from Kiffin.[32] Kiffin issued a public apology one day after making the comment. In a statement released by the University of Tennessee, Kiffin wrote, "In my enthusiasm for our recruiting class, I made some statements that were meant solely to excite those at the breakfast. If I offended anyone at the University of Florida, including Mr. Foley and Urban Meyer, I sincerely apologize. That was not my intention."[33]

Kiffin generated further controversy when he told wide receiver recruit Alshon Jeffery that if Jeffery chose the Gamecocks, "he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who had gone to South Carolina." Jeffery went on to sign with the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and became the second round, 45th pick overall in the 2012 NFL Draft being signed by the Chicago Bears, and selected to the 2014 Pro Bowl.[34][35] Kiffin denied making the statement, however the incident was corroborated by Jeffery's high school coach Walter Wilson, who was listening to Kiffin's remarks on speakerphone.[36][37][38]

Spurrier, fountain of youth, unicorn.

Just saying!!!

Is there anyone on this board that would like to start a thread to vote on whether Mac will be back next year?

He will not be fired.........there is a chance that he may leave on his own due to the negativity surrounding the program right now and this will set the program back another 4 years, so the Negagators will have won?
Not sure if that is really a win.
