Here's an interesting story on the hiring of Mullen...

But at the start of the search for McElwain’s replacement, Fuchs turned to his athletic director with a question: “What about coach Mullen?”

“I’m not going to start there,” Stricklin quickly replied.

:yikes:

turns out, it was because of his loyalty to MSU since he had so many ties there and nothing to do with Dan's ability. he felt if he "stole" Mullen from MSU, he'd be betraying MSU.

and now it looks as if he might be leaving.

you think so?

you know, someone made a good comment in that thread on the SECRant. are we too critical of our coaches? do we, the fans/media, scrutinize the coaching staff too much?

I'd be pretty darn happy with Luke Fickell or Mario Cristobal

If Mullen were to leave and Grantham and Hevesy leaving with him is the biggest plus

Dude has won 31 games and lost 9 in 4 years and our fans want him gone?

I did not say I want him gone but if he were to leave. he can take Grantham and Hevesy and not let the door hit him on the way out and if EJ wants to hit the transfer portal and go start at SC more power to him.

And I think Luke Fickell or Mario Cristobal would be fantastic at Florida. so if Mullen wants to go then he can go. Florida will not have a problem getting a coach to Gainesville

Is it a perception issue with him then? Those are pretty good numbers. Maybe not the numbers they want compared to Urban and Spurrier?

Negagators are never happy. They ran Spurrier off and are a cancer to the program.
