I guess Wuerrfel should have transferred out after throwing FOUR picks in a game and was benched three times by Spurrier?

Get out of here with that noise. Franks may not turn out well this year...but again he could surprise folks. I think Danny turned out ok.

Everyone last year was hating on Del Rio...remember? And I remember one post where a Gator stated he would puke if Del Rio started. Turned out he was dead wrong. All I saw on this board was start Franks start Franks..and I knew the kid wasn't ready. He was too skinny (as was Lock) and couldnt take the hits...he has now gained a lot of weight and is in the weight room a lot from reports.

You could be wrong Straws...just saying. I think we will see a QB with experience start. Mullen is smart and will want to win...he will be the judge, not us.

It's not the interceptions he throws.

It's the way he moves in the pocket.

It's his poor footwork.

It's how he doesn't understand defenses.

It's how he can't detect the blitz.

It's how he doesn't adjust for blitzes that aren't hidden at the LOS.

It's how he misses wide open receivers.

It's how he fumbles without contact.

It's how he can't read coverages.

It's how he stares his receivers down.

It's how he has no touch pass.

It's how he can't throw passes that aren't slants or outs.

It's how he doesn't know where he is on the field.

It's how he doesn't know when to throw it away.

It's how he doesn't understand his offensive line blocking scheme.

It's how he runs a play-action on the wrong side.

It's how he ligns his RB up and telegraphs to the defense what he's doing.

It's how he doesn't seem to understand fundamentally everything you need to be a good Quarterback. I don't think we should waste time on someone who clearly doesn't have it, and who has shown that he has no intention of actually learning.

Straws, your head is harder than steel reinforced concrete. Better watch game films of Wuerrfel stare down WRs in 1993, 1994 and even sometimes in 1995 as a damn jr. Oh, and he r/sed too.

Poor footwork? Have you watched Peyton Manning as a damn senior QB? Dude...you don't know what you are saying. He was a first rounder and had horrible footwork when he had the least amount of pressure on him. View 1997 game and watch his feet man. He was spasmatic

Of course he sucked last year...he wasn't fricking ready.

Are you saying Franks is our Wuerffel or Manning?

Speaking of Manning, Martez Ivey said Trask reminds him of Manning.

I think he says it at the 10 minute mark.

Let me ask you something: Why do you think the offensive line talks about Trask but the defense talks about Franks? Ours isn't the only defense that loves Franks.

Franks: He's....got experience? Competitive?

Trask: He's a game manager, he takes over the game. He's like Peyton Manning.

Emory Jones: He's young but he's able to run fast.

Reel: Those quarterbacks at least did one fricking thing right.

One.

Franks doesn't do anything right. It's not about footwork exclusively.

You really, really want Franks to work out but he's not, man. He needs at least this season to get rid of all of the terrible habits that he has as a quarterback. If it were footwork alone, well shoot, we can do that.

It's all of the other fundamentals that he just sucks at, and that aren't going to get fixed in one off-season, if ever.

The only thing we gain by starting Franks is cutting snaps that could be used by Trask and Jones.

Im glad Trask threw that 67 yd or whatever it was TD against UT. And Im glad Trask threw that long bomb against Vandy too.

Straws we have 30 days to find out what our team looks like and unlike you...Im more worried about special teams and the run game. if Trask starts great! But you wont bring yourself to be open minded....as I said...steel reinforced concrete.

We aren't going to have you implode if Franks starts and succeeds are we? I will be fine with whoever Mullen wants.

I'm glad Trask threw five completions against Michigan.

I'm glad Trask threw seven completions against Kentucky.

Seven against Georgia.

Seven against Missouri.

I'm glad he couldn't even get a first down against LSU when we had literally minutes of game left with the best kicker in college football.

I'm glad he threw a fricking interception in the Texas A&M game, again, with a minute left with the best kicker in college football.

I'm glad he threw three interceptions and had a fumble, and was responsible for 24 out of 33 FSU points to finish out the season.

I'm also glad he had the exact same amount of turnovers to start his first scrimmage, showing how much progress he'd made in the off-season.

You worry about special teams, I'll worry about if Franks, literally the worst Quarterback in modern Florida history, is going to start again and will be upset that we have to bench him yet again.

This battle will rage on between QB supporters until the season begins. One thing I am sure of, whoever starts the first game will be the player that the coaching staff believes will give us the best chance to win. I hope that their decision is correct!!!

Go Gators.

The one thing I am really optimistic about with Mullen is that he can generate a decent QB. He has proven so over and over.

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I would bet a lot that Franks will not be the starter, or if he is, it won't be for long, because he is just a black hole.

When I say black hole, I mean that he literally makes people around him WORSE instead of better.

The more time that goes on the more and more confident I am that Franks will not start, and if he does it's just a matter of time. He has way too much ground to make up -- and while there are plenty of QBs who have unorthodox styles that somehow worked out (Tebow's side arm pass, for example) most of them had something to fall back on.

But when guys like Jeff Driskel and Treon Harris, one in an arguably worse offensive scheme with Muschamp and the other in both offensive schemes -- are beating you, you are not a Quarterback. Period.

I'm almost certain we'll use all three of our Quarterbacks first game of the year, just to see how they roll with it, but Franks has no future at Quarterback.
