Can we talk about UF's OL. How much improvement are you guys expecting from your OL this year? These are some concerning stats that I was reading about in an Athletic article that is linked below.

quote:

• Ranking 11th in the SEC, 74th nationally, in yards per carry (4.24)

• Ranking 11th in the SEC, 89th nationally, in rushing yards before contact (1.49)

• Ranking 12th in the SEC, 86th nationally, in pressures allowed on drop-backs (36.08 percent)

Obviously, but how much better? Especially in the run game.

I think they will significantly improve. Much more experienced and brought in a quality transfer in Reese.

They have nowhere to go but up.

I still don't think they will be great though.

What part of "that is all" do you not understand.

I think we have to pump the brakes on "significantly" improve. I think they will improve, but with a shortened off-season we need to see if they were able to get enough reps. That being said: I don't think it'll matter too much, our passing game may actually improve, if only because Trask graduated and will be working with the 1s almost exclusively.

Bringing in Reese should be a boost. I’m curious what Lingard can do behind that line. Missing spring football hurts them like it hurts UGA but not as bad.

Lingard isn’t going to be the factor that people think this year.

Pierce is obviously the bell cow. But the hype surrounding Malik Davis and Nayquan Wright during camp has continued to grow.

I think the offensive line will be better by default with the addition of Stewart Reese. It hurts losing Ethan White for the year, but we have more depth this year than in years past.

Inside should be better. Still need more talent at tackle.

Last I saw, White might be back before the season is out.

I try not to look to far into camp hype. Some of that is directly controlled to get out stuff to misdirect as well. Lingard probably is behind in terms of blocking and routes but Mullen usually does not hesitate to put in transfers quickly if they have the talent. He didnt grab Lingard to sit him on a bench for a year most likely.

I only say significantly because they were so fricking bad last year. They could significantly improve and just be mediocre.

Lol so true. I mean Hevesy has proven he can develop a line. We just do not have a lot of top end talent on the line. So it takes them longer. Gouriage will be a stud this year I'm betting on it.
