You mess up once sure may not be a bad person unless it's rape or murder. How have you been coach Bowden?
I've dealt with all sorts of people from church leaders to gang members and their actions tell you who they are. They can try to hide it but who they are eventually comes to light. Callaway can be a hard worker all he wants but he hangs out with child molesters has been arrested for weed, cited for not having a drivers license and now committed fraud. You can live in a Pollyanna fantasy land in academia but in the real world people like AC81 don't get better. Their crimes get worse. He's not a good person.Otherwise he wouldn't be in any of those situation except maybe the weed.

^ Oh my lord, Callaway really smoked weed? How dare him puff up. Send his arse to jail and throw a way the key for smoking marijuana. Plus the guy he was with has a lengthy rap sheet including molesting a minor (he could have been 18 and she 16) but who cares, that MUST mean Callaway molested kids too. And he was driving on a suspended license. NO ONE EVER DRIVES ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE. Throw him under the jail and never look back.

WTH are you talking about? Maybe we should look at skeletons in your closet? Just because you say he's no good doesn't make it true. You are living in a Pollyanna world if you think he's the only student, let alone athlete at the thousands of schools that smoke weed and drive without a valid license, etc., etc.

I was waiting for that canard. Yes, once you set foot on a college campus, the real world ceases. I can only imagine the marxist postmodernist you must think I am because, you know, everyone at a university is.

So just so I have this straight, your argument is that people that break the law when they are under say 22 will always grow up to commit ever more severe crimes in every instance and that is because anyone who commits a crime at this age, and I'm willing to go pretty much up to murder, are just fundamentally broken individuals and essentially sociopaths?

Where did I ever say that? Look at AC81 decision making. He feels entitled and thus thinks he can get away with his behavior. People who think they can get away with things escalate their activities. I'm not saying AC81 is Ahern who had the same issues but what does it look like to you? Do you think a guy that has broken the law multiple times within a a few years will get better? I'll take that bet. Fraud, drugs, rape investigations yep coach bobby those grown men are just misunderstood kids. You can either be a product of your environment or turn your environment into a product of your own creation. AC81 won't change unless he wants to. Good riddance.

I don't have a problem with the weed as I pointed out. Can you not read? Regardless it's still illegal. A guy that is involved with a child molester, breaks the law after multiple times and scams people's money isn't a good person. Are AHern and Janzen Jackson good people? They made mistakes. frick no. You're an adult at 18 whether you want to act like it or not. This excusing major criminal behavior because you're young is a load of shite. If AC81 was on any other team you guys would've been calling him a criminal and calling out the coach. Hypocrites

I agree with TJGator on this. These are grown men who should know right from wrong and don't. Sorry for them but they shouldn't be representing the University of Florida. I believe that we should announce a zero tolerance policy and weed out the players that can't obey the law. No matter what law it is and whether you agree with it or not, the law is the law.

I don't agree that they're automatically bad people for weed at the very least, even if it's against the law (I hate pot culture in general, as a preface) kids do it all over campus all the time.

I think what bothers me is that they're sufficiently stupid to get caught doing it by the police, who are a little less ''observant'' on campus.

Fraud, though, is just inexcusable. Fraud is basically a signal that they have no respect for the institution or their futures as players. They didn't defraud random passerbys, they defrauded the motherfricking University that was giving them a free ride to the NFL and a once in a lifetime college degree.

If they are convicted, which it appears they will be, there is no way to say they're not pieces of shite. This isn't like a dumb kid not having enough money to register his car so he switches his license plate over to his next vehicle, not knowing what he was doing -- these are several guys who not only knew they doing bad shite, they told others to do it and sucked them into the scheme.

Morons, I don't want to see any of them back on the team -- it'll open up some recruiting windows.

The law is the law, if you can't follow it you shouldn't play for the University of Florida.

upvote.

The problem is that if we pass on 4 and 5 stars due to questionable character, half or our fan base will start yelling that the coaching staff can't recruit.

Well technically they can't because there's plenty of 4-5* recruits that aren't TPOS. They're just not going after them.
