I just wish Mullen would quit swapping QBs on 2nd and 3rd down.

I dont mind the swapping, but when EJ is in Id like to see the kid play QB instead of just lead QB sweeps ect

I think there are a few reasons that Mullen doesn't trust Emory quite yet.
The good: Emory is a dynamic dual-threat and he absolutely will pick up a ton of yards with his legs. The ball also comes off his hands lightning fast, which is another thing we will have to watch as time goes on.
The bad: Footwork is a mess, it's no where near it should be. I think a bigger problem is that his ball placement, while good, has some very questionable accuracy from time to time. There were a few passes where no one was near him and the ball was way, way off.
Trask has those same throws, but 9 out of 10 times it's because he's being hit, and even as he's being hit/has pressure he at least gets the ball to the receiver for the most part. I'm not sure Emory could throw it 30/40 times a game and we would win.
Those are my assumptions at least, since there is so little game tape (unlike Franks that I could get easily). That being said, one more off-season and he should be more than ready to start passing a little more and not just running those silly sweeps.

I love seeeing he and his family are patient. That's so great to see.
However. All I want is a fair shot to him. If he gets it, and he loses, all good.
But if we go two QBs...stop this one or two play thing. Let him go in for a drive. Let him throw the ball. Let him run the offense and see how it goes vs lesser teams. Then if we do it in big games when the offense isn't clicking, he knows he can go a full drive without stress

If wild equals door knob humping event in the Special Olympics then yes.

Mullen isn't perfect, but after shite production from the QB position for the last decade, I'm going to let him rotate his QB's however he chooses. One of the things I love about Mullen is you just can't ever tell what he is going to do, and I know it must drive defensive coordinators crazy.
Also Emory ran the ball 42 times and threw the ball 38 times this season. So it's not like he never throws.
