So they have fricking McWilliams starting at Star. That kid can not cover anything how is he at Star?!?!

Then Campbell nor Stewart are on the two deep.

Our nightmare came true and our two worst offensive lineman are at the tackle spot. I almost lost my shite when I saw McWilliams at Star over Burney. Hopefully the staff saw remarkable growth because that kid was the worst player on the field two years ago on either side of the ball.

I'm assuming Campbell and Stewart are suspended. Seeing McWilliams and Steiner on the field at once terrifies me. Wells is not in the two deep either. Wonder if he is as well, or if they are in lockdown.

McWilliams was a shocker.

Edit: I seem to remember the depth chart not always being the starting group on Saturday.

I am chill...but McWilliams is the worst corner I've seen at UF since Pierre Louis in 07. Maybe he has improved, I pray. Cause...my God the tape is bad. This is just a small article from midseason in 2018 about him being absolutely dreadful. This is before Missouri and Georgia, where he was responsible for 5 or 6 touchdowns given up in two games.

Mullen bullshits the depth chart all of the time.

Also, Burney is starting at WLB.

Look at all of the "ors".

No Lingard either so must be a few players either or suspended or locked down or both

Would rather see Wright out there returning punts and kickoffs

I wouldn't trust the Depth Chart at all.

These are purely "gentlemanly", and it means absolutely nothing. Mullen literally had a rule implemented because of his pre-game warm-up stuff lmao.

Relax, this won't be the depth chart every game and I'm super confident in it. Especially on defense, we've been rotating way more.

That is not a defensive depth chart that inspires a lot of confidence

That's the point I'm making, and yeah that's from Miami last year.

The point is that we rotate a ton of players, and Mullen is known for bullshitting about the depth chart, again, and I repeat: This is the guy they just made a rule about regarding the pre-game and wearing numbers.

He releases no information about injuries, suspensions nor COVID results. He's literally infamous for doing this.

This is this year's depth chart.

I know our defense will have a lot of moving pieces. I'm just worried. Seems our staff thinks higher of some kids than they probably should. How long did it take to realize Dean was horrible last year and McWilliams a year before? Sometimes that concerns me. We have talent at every position. I'd rather move on from guys who have struggled on game day at this point. I'll take an athletic freshman who makes some mistakes over a veteran who knows the system but can not cover anyone, anyday.

This team doesn't look very good against the run, on paper. I hope I'm wrong.

A lot of the guys who weren't great run stoppers necessarily added some weight. I think DT wise we will be fine once Campbell is back. As for the LBers Burney at Star vs a good run team seems like it should be the best option, then let two more traditional LBers cover the middle of the field.

Oh well..we will see. Though if I see Dean and McWilliams on the field at the same time in any big game I will lose my mind. That's a guaranteed touchdown if you throw to their side.

Hard to judge because Cox will be a massive factor and no one knows what that looks like.

I watched every defensive snap last year probably a dozen or more times, and before he went out with injuries, Moon was playing great against the run. He almost never got stuck on blocks and his speed blew up nearly every outside run on his side. If you watch, he didn't rack up a ton of TFL but he caused backs to hesitate or juke long enough that the other backers could come in and clean up.

I don't trust any of our safeties to be strong in run support, been burned way too many times. But this is as deep and talented at DT as we have been in a long time.

It might not be in a positive way though. He was a major liability against the run when we was at UGA because he refused to be gap sound. But maybe he's matured and can be the 5 star player that he has the talent for.

Brenton Cox got the #1 jersey.

It might not sound like a lot, but on Mullen teams, earning that jersey is actually a sign of very high praise, especially for someone who didn't play last year.

The O-line said that he's on a whole other level and that they haven't played against someone like him yet or in a very long time.

I'm not doubting his talent, I'm just saying against the run he was a liability at UGA. Hopefully he has figured it out.

May happen here too. We will see. Grantham usually has good gap discipline on his teams. Our biggest issue last year was back up DEs not holding the edge vs the run though. So Moon gaining weight may help him not get bullied inside on outside runs as easily.
